hey guys need help , i am using I7-950, 8gb RAM, win 7 64 bit.

while i render scenes, the maximum RAM used to render a scene is 3 gb. y doesnt Vue use more than that, so tht it speeds up my work.

pls help!!!

Maybe because it doesn't need more than that on this particular scene?

depends on your Vue. If it's 32-bit itself, 3Gb is the absolute upper limit. For more you need a 64-bit version.

I just shifted fom VueComplete 32 to VueComplete 64 when my 64-bit machine arrived. Just download your Vue again, install and reregister using the same serial as for the 32bit.

Hope this helps.

Well, he did mention Win7 64bit...

yeah, I know, otherwise he had get another answer.

But no-one (but himself) stops him to install his good old 32-bit Vue on a 64bit OS.

The logic is:

if you run a 64-bit OS
then if you run a 64-bit program: all is fine
else if you run a 32-bit program which is LargeAdressAware (LAA): 3gb is the limit
else 2gb is the limit (non LAA software)
else (you run a 32 bit OS)
   then 2gb is the limit
unless your software AND your OS are LargeAddressAware, or made so

see my tutorial: http://www.main.artbeeweb.nl/?p=2429

(which currently resides in the Renderosity Poser section. I will update it a bit, and republish in the Vue section).

The 32-bit Vue versions are all LAA from Vue 8 up. That's why he gets 3gb user memory from his 64-bit OS.

All the best
