Subject: How do I find Prime Products?

vienastoks ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2011 at 6:55 AM · edited Thu, 19 September 2024 at 9:49 AM

Hi! Now that I'm proud Renderosity Prime subscriber I would kinda like to see what's on offer. But I can't locate Prime on the MarketPlace menu and can't find Prime link on the MarketPlace or Sales pages. Where SHOULD I look? :)

nruddock ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2011 at 8:46 AM · edited Sat, 16 July 2011 at 8:50 AM

Going by the front page article (-> http://www.renderosity.com/prime-time-begins-monday-july-18th-cms-15702) it would appear that it (-> http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=87657) doesn't officially launch until Monday.
I suspect that this means they won't update the site menus until then.

My guess would be the MP item slipped out a little early and was then removed/hidden, because it's not showing up in either "What's New" or on Store Staff's store page, but fortunately Google did index yesterday, so allowing me to know what you were talking about.

vienastoks ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2011 at 8:54 AM

Thanks! It seems I took an early advantage. :) Will wait for Monday and see what good this Prime thingie will bring to us. From description I understand it will be somewhat similar to D*Z club - annual fee will let you buy some products at fixed (lower) price.

Debbie M. ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2011 at 12:29 PM

Yeah, we got a little ahead of ourselves on the article.  Be sure to check back on Monday :)

vienastoks ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 9:22 AM

Well, it's Monday already... :) Still no sign of Prime. I guess we just wait a little bit longer then...

Debbie M. ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 9:55 AM

Prime products have their own section here http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?TopID=&Prime=Y

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Dream9Studios ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 10:08 AM

Is there a waiting period for Prime to take effect? I purchased it less than half an hour ago but all Prime products are still showing up at their normal prices instead of the promised $3.50. Is this a glitch or am I just be impatient?

Thanks!

wimvdb ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 10:25 AM

Same for me. All are the "normal" prices

Debbie M. ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 10:33 AM

Programmers are correcting the issue now.

Apologies for the slight delay.

Debbie M.

SophiD ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 10:43 AM

good to know it's not just me that's still seeing the regular prices!

Good move Renderosity!

Debbie M. ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 11:04 AM

Regular prices will appear, but if you add a Prime product to your cart you should see it priced at $3.50 in your cart.

The issue has been resolved, so if anyone is seeing any price other than the Prime Price on a Prime product, please let us know.

Debbie M.

wimvdb ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 11:12 AM

I had to remove all items from the cart and then re-add them before the new prices appeared. Logout/Login did not work

But the prices are now correct

Debbie M. ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 11:17 AM

I apologize for the inconvenience, but am happy to hear that it's working for you.

Thank you for your support!

vienastoks ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 11:47 AM

Prime is awesome!!! Thanks for this – it's a wonderful opportunity for hobbyist like me, to use more professional products, that I could afford otherwise.

One question, though. Is there RSS feed for new prime products, so I wouldn't miss anything. General new product RSS and sale RSS feeds work very well!

Debbie M. ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 12:05 PM

The RSS feed for new prime products is being worked on :)

Glad to know that you're happy with this new feature at Renderosity!  Thanks for your support.

Norimaro ( ) posted Mon, 18 July 2011 at 12:48 PM

Curious, can someone purchase multiple years at the current rate or is it just for the initial purchase?

Faerydae ( ) posted Tue, 19 July 2011 at 2:18 PM

Have another question about this, but didn't want to start another thread since there are already a handful or so.

I noticed on the prime article page that someone said some of the classic products that will be added to the prime category would only be there temporarily, so everyone should check the category frequently to see what's been added. My question is, will  there be a special email/newsletter sent out to notify members of when new products have been added, and/or when they are scheduled to be removed from the category?

KristiS ( ) posted Tue, 19 July 2011 at 4:43 PM

Hi Faerydae, we are currently discussing this to see what the best way we at Renderosity think would be best : )

Hi Debbie - I purchased a year of Prime but I want to make sure I understand correctly...if I go back in and purchase two more Primes at $25. each, that will be good for year two and three?  Sounds wonderful but I want to be sure before I go ahead and do it.  :)

KristiS ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2011 at 11:36 AM

Hi MtnMist, that is correct : )

ummm...I just purchased two more years and got the confirmation.  It says it expires 2013 but it should be 2014, since that's a total of three years.  How can I correct this?  thanks in advance, Kristi.  :)

Debbie M. ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2011 at 12:08 PM

Hi MtnMist, I just looked and your subscription is valid thru 7-17-2014 :D

Thank you for your support!!

MtnMist ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2011 at 12:10 PM

Ok, thanks, Debbie.  The emailed receipt said 7-17-2013 so I wanted to double check.   Thanks again.  :)

Debbie M. ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2011 at 1:56 PM

yeah, I might have to discuss that with the programmer to see if there is a bug to squash, but I can assure you that in the system you're all set for a 2014 expiration :)

Enjoy!!

Another question - If a prime member is purchasing gifts for others - would they be able to do so at the Prime price for items that are Prime items (whether or not they've bought the item for themselves)

One thought in connection with this - you have a nice system in the wishlists that have symbols to show if something is on sale, etc.  It would be nice to add another symbol that would indicate that the item is a Prime item.

Quote - I noticed on the prime article page that someone said some of the classic products that will be added to the prime category would only be there temporarily, so everyone should check the category frequently to see what's been added. My question is, will  there be a special email/newsletter sent out to notify members of when new products have been added, and/or when they are scheduled to be removed from the category?

Quote - Hi Faerydae, we are currently discussing this to see what the best way we at Renderosity think would be best : )

There is even a more important issue with this (though I think that's a good question as well).  How are people supposed to KNOW which items are temporary and which are permanent items?  I know I'm not familiar with every product to know if it's new or vintage. SOMEONE must have decided the answer to these things...and this is something I'd love to know BEFORE choosing to join.

Quote - Sorry your question was missed initially Norimaro.  You can purchase multiple years at the intro price.

That's really nice!  I know you aren't anticipating this - since Prime is something you are just starting.  But let's say that at some point after the first year you find this isn't working out and end the concept. If people have purchased several years of membership - would Rendo refund the balance of the paid membership?

The initial cost for this makes this seem a very good idea and a very good deal - particularly if you can get several years at this price.  It's just that there are SOOOO many uncertainties at this point that I think a lot of people (myself included) are hesitant to take advantage of it.

I'm sorry to sound so irritated, but it seems like there are SO many things about Prime that SHOULD have been thought out before bringing it out - REALLY obvious things like

-When exactly will the intro price for it end?

-How do we distinguish between items that are only temporary (which need to have a DATE the temporary prime pricing will end) and those that are permanent... and let the customers KNOW this information?

-How can we adjust/change our $5 minimum for purchases so that Prime members can purchase just one item and not always have to buy 2 at a time? (if I'm understanding things correctly, that is currently the case)

Rendo has some amazing products, but it seems that there is often a serious reluctance to let customers know when sales are scheduled to end.  If you just put a date and have it LONGER than that date, great - it's just a bonus.  But if there's no date, or if (as is often the case) the date on the product page may mean it ends the beginning of the day on that date or it may mean it ends the end of the day on the date, it creates confusion, causes frustration, and makes customers feel unimportant.

And if you're not sure about all this, it seems that extending the initial pricing until there IS some clarification of these issues would be nice.

These issues are making me unsure about purchasing the Prime membership - something which as I said appears on the surface to be a great deal!

Cheers,
Alisa

Hello,

I am going to try to clear some things up for you aproctor : )

  1. Introductory price is not to exceed a week.

  2. We are discussing the Classic products as a team to see what we feel the best way to go about this is.

  3. The minimum purchase has been fixed so you can purchase one Renderoiy Prime product at a time now if you'd like.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Okay, thanks, the answer to that question would be:

When a Prime member is purchasing gifts for others, they will have to purchase the product at the "non Renderosity Prime" price.

Thanks for the help nruddock as I double checked and somehow still missed it..LOL

Thanks Kristi...

Is the answer to this one included in one of your answers (I might not have understood it if it is). ;o)

-How do we distinguish between items that are only temporary (which need to have a DATE the temporary prime pricing will end) and those that are permanent... and let the customers KNOW this information?

And I have another question for myself:

Will Rendo try to have vendors who make various kinds of products in the PRIME? (adult, toon, kids, etc.)

Thanks!

Thanks for the answers, Kristi - I did just see the issue about minimum pricing in another post. One other answer missing:

So presumably the MP software will do this automagically when someone gifts a Prime item to someone else ?

I'd suggest gathering up the various Q&A from the recent Prime related threads into a new FAQ section so people can be referred to it.

KristiS ( ) posted Fri, 22 July 2011 at 9:48 AM

Yes nruddock, the system will do this automatically.

We are currently working on this list and when the list is complete, we will be posting it to the FAQ section.

Thanks!

Francemi, yes, I responded to that question (maybe in a different thread). We are discussing this as a team and will let everyone know when this has been taken care of : )

Items entered in Renderosity Prime will vary as it is really up to the vendors to decide what they would like to upload to the club, this goes for the "New" products and the "Classic" products.

Hopefully, the longer Renderosity Prime is around, the more variety of products there will be.

Aproctor, you are so very welcome, I'm glad I can help. To answer this question, we do not anticipate Renderosity Prime club failing however if we need to cross that bridge, we will when we come to it.

Hope you all have a great day!

hmmm, I certainly would not use the word failing (certainly everyone hopes it will be a great success!), maybe just the company choosing to discontinue it for WHATEVER reason.  Programs DO get discontinued.

I understand that you're just giving us the answer you were given, but a more definitive answer from someone would certainly be nice. ;->.

You have a great day, too!
