Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
Did you open the firewall for PPro 2010? It's not the same program as Poser 8. But it does the same thing.
Also, don't run both at the same time.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
I'm not sure if P3DO does use sockets, last time I heard about it, it ran a Python script to load stuff, so there's nothing the firewall can block.
How are you loading the content? Drag & Drop into Poser? Or via Python scripts? Where are those located? They may need to be installed into Poser Pro 2010. If you're using Windows 7 and Vista with UAC turned on, it could also be that Poser Pro 2010 cannot run the Python scripts, because it cannot access them due to Permissions...
You need to give more information :-)
As for P3dO, it may be configured to use sockets or not. And sockets do not work with P8 or PP2010.
1st the PoserPython plugin must be installed (available with Poser plugins pack).
Then in Options dialog, Plugins tab make sure: "Use with Poser Remote Procedure Call daemon (Prpc)" is unchecked.
Shoud work like this and as Dizzi said with these settings there's no network, no firewall involved.

Thank you yarp! That did it. Now P3dO is working perfectly.
The other was loading from Windows Explorer. Could have something to do with Win764bit.
I've configured a right-click in Explorer that is supposed to work (and did in XP) but is now just dead. I'll get it eventually but actually don't need it since P3DO works.

Does anyone know why files won't load from external programs in PPro210? I was using P3dO and Windows Explorer to load files into Poser 8 with no problems, beside occasional crash from PddO. Now nothing happens. It's as if something is blocking any Python communication between programs.
All I can think is that there must be something different in PPro that is causing the problem.
Any help for this would be really appreciated...
