Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 8:11 pm)
You're confusing the heck out of me. The first, second, and fourth image are identical. I've had 3 drinks. Is it me or you?
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
Are you willing to pay 3X for one outfit? Not that I'm interested, but others might be.

I beleive the OP could " kitbash" those oufit from existing clothing items except for the bagdes&insignias.
Cheers
Wolf has it. The boots and leggings, for example, are fairly generic. In fact, Uzilite's stuff may well do the job. With a bit of playing around in Wardrobe Wizard, you should be able to get them to fit any figure.

Problem is, to be marketable, the outfits can't be under a copyright... which they seem to be, they look to be from a sci-fi show or something?
And if we can't sell them to the general public, a Poser content creator would have to charge you for a few weeks of work probably...

Star Trek Klingon uniforms. Yep. Copyrighted, actually, trademarked. Can't sell them. But there is nothing stopping you from downloading and learning Blender. It's free. You could them make them yourself for your own use.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.
i never intended to sell these , they would be put up somewhere as a free item ,
and i am willing to pay for them to be made as is stated in the thread title with the word COMMISSION
im quite happy qith my skills at using hexagon so blender is not an option however free it is .
there is a reason that i am looking for an artist that does this hind of thing and know the process inside and out , that reason is that im no good at it
the problem seems to be finding someone that will do it , instead od finding someone that wants to talk about my i cant convert an exsisting item or why i dont make em my self
A content creator who agreed to do these for pay would be potentially at risk of getting into hot water with the owners of the Star Trek franchise. And, since making clothes ain't exactly a walk in the park, I doubt many would want to make 'em for free, unless they're a devoted Trekker.
Until then the alternatives are your best options.

I did say "potentially". And it all depends on the company involved. Disney, for example, have gone after people for painting murals on school walls, even though they were done for free.
According to the strict interpretation of copyright law, anyone accepting payment for an unauthorized replica of a copyright item is in breach, whether the item is intended for personal use or not, free distribution or not.
Many companies allow fan art. As far as I know, none of them would be happy about anyone other than themselves receiving payment for their products.

Dude it's Trekkie, Trekkers are just Trekkies in denial. :P
... suddenly I see this conversation and remembered The Big Bang Theory, and now I fear for my life for calling Star Trek a "sci fi show or something" LMAO!
Me? I'm the D&D kinda nerd. Love fantasy.
Anyway... I don't think I'd do very well trying to model clothes like that, and I'd really rather avoid the possible complications, sorry...

Well, I was just being polite. I'm not a fan of the show so I don't fit into either category. :)

Lol yeah, it's like someone saying a D&D is "some fairy tale or something..."
Fantasy nerd here also, never rendered anything sci-fi so far, though I have ideas for one or two scenes. Altough, I was a Star Wars freak as a kid.

Painting Mickey Mouse on a school wall is a public display, which is a slightly different matter, moreso since Disney already tries to touch up it's meager income by selling posters. Anyway, since the OP together with renderosity are probably already at the top of Captain Kirk's Most-Wanted-List for posting those images here, i do not think it can get much worse anyway; making a 3d model of the suit would probably be the smaller issue.
And just to stir things up a bit more...
I do like SF. Which is why I don't particularly like Star Trek.

Bluto - you don't need to pay, theres loads of free stuff out there...

If what you want isn't there, you can use Wardrobe Wizard or cross dresser to convert to other figures.
Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
mr sparkey , i appriciate the links ,
Thanks.
i have most of the items listed however i dont like the klingon uniforms . they are to unfinnished . i need something alot more polished
Do you mean the shoulder armour where you say..
this is a better pic of the first couple
..if yes. Then maybe someone in the daz thread would make you that part and you could use the other parts of the clothing.
If not, or you want other clothing, then what are you offering cashwise?
Is this 50/50 or 100% up front?
Whats your timeframe?
How many revisions do you think is fair?
There'll be a few people watching it and I know a few artists who might be able to help. But they'll need to know that you're serious about this.
Apol if that sounds cynical, not meant to be. It's because "make me" requests tend to be 2 a penny on the boards. So if you can show all is cool you'll easily be able to get someone to help.

mr sparkey ,
regarding the m3 and a3 klingon uniforms , i feel the entire uniform is un finnished . dont miss understand me here , its a good start it just dosent go far enough . the whole thing needs to be taken back to formula and re worked
its fun to play aroud with the uniform that is out there but its not right /
its like the differance between the real costume and the mass market halloween outfit .
sure it looks klingon but it also looks cheesy and cheap
cash wise , that depends on the artist skill level .
i dont intend to take as gospel that they are good , i will want to see a link to the portfolio page any decent digital content builder should have online
since it would be a group commission from the good folks over at the trek builder forum on daz of wich i am a proud member we could have a whip around and get the start up cash in short order
i think we could swing a 50 down 50 when finnished ,
revisions , no more than 5 but i hope to be able to get things close to what im after with 3 or less
i am very serious about this, ith romulan outfits can wait for a bit , im really after a top shelf set of klingon uniforms for m4 and v4
That "halloween costume" look is probably because of the simple textures with simple shaders.
Do you need this for Daz Studio or Poser? For Poser, I could give it a shot, depending on how much money we're talking about (because then I'd have to delay a few products I have in the making). For D|S... can do the meshes and stuff, but I don't know how materials work.

One of them can't be delayed (I have a texture artist with an expansion pack for my product to be released along with it, and she's waiting for me to finish it...). The others can be done slowly as I make yours. I would try the female outfits first... have never done stuff for men. Do you have back views of the two female outfits you posted in page 1 of this thread? I'll have to analise my price depending on details and complexity.

You're gonna have to tell me which is which via description of appearance, because until the middle of page 1 of this thread, I didn't even know these are from Star Trek
Also, please check your site mail.

With the couple that looks like your avatar, yes? Ok, I'd start with the female one if you're ok with it and have more references, but I'll need an answer to the site mail I sent you first.
