Subject: Textures for M3

Does anyone know where I can find basic- i.e. genertic- texture maps for Micheal 3? I have the universal texture from Daz, but that's only 1 caucasian skin  texture. I need to find others as well.

I must be dense. I'm seeing specific character textures and morphs, but no universal- generic- head and body textures. I'm looking for basic M3 maps with different skin tones.

What is the difference between a "specific character texture" and a "universal- generic head and body texture"? It is a bit unclear.

A Universal texture is one that's not intended for a specific character. Say for example you have a character called "Daniel for M3" that comes complete with morphs and texture maps.  Universal maps are not for specific characters. they are the basic M3 map, but with different skin colors that you can take into photoshop and make over into maps for a specific character.

A skin texture for M3 is a skin texture for M3. It doesn't matter what "character" the skin texture comes with.  You can mix and match skin textures to your heats content. Use the morph from one package, and a skin texture from another, lip colour from another, eye colour from yet another.

You don't even have to apply the morphs to use the textures. You can apply any M3 texture to the base M3 without morphs.

You can take any M3 texture into photoshop and rehue it. But you can't redistribute it.

Or are you looking for merchant resources so you can make your own skin textures?

If you're looking for different skin tones, and then using Photoshop to make specific characters, why not just use Photoshop on the basic M3 textures and use layers to create the skin tones you want first, then flatten and modify to create specific characters? As long as you're not redistributing, you can do anything you want to textures - I made my Andorian texture by layering the right shade of blue over the standard SP3 textures and then changing the blend mode and transparency to get exactly what I wanted. It works like a charm.

It's listed under V3 but Ecstasy's former merchant resource is now free and includes M3 base textures as well.

DAZ recently vaulted all the M3 basic texture sets (lo and hi res).  If you search the RDNA freebies, there used to be a set of mats that adjusted the skin tones for V3 that worked on M3 as well.  If you can't find it, ask in the forums.  Someone will point you to it.

I'll see if I can find them. I don't think I've ever looked at RDNA's freebies. I've looked at their Real Deals...
