You could also use trans maps to do it if you want to go in the middle of as body part (like half a forearm) though dynamic clothing covering such will need special care. Also with either method there will be a hole in the arm. If it shows, you'll need something to fill it.

anyway, i know how to handle software such as maya.
is it possible to import the poser model into maya to edit the poser model there? i want to create a bleeding crippled arm inside of maya.
is it later possible to re-import it back to poser without messing up the rigging and texture structure?

is it possible to cut off an arm from a 3d-character-model so that it looks like a crippled wounded arm? (this is no joke)
can i do this inside of poser or do i have to modify the model in programs such as 3ds max?
does this have influence on the rigging system?
