Any ideas on what i can do to get Poser imports to work again?  Before I installed Poser Pro 2012, I had Poser pro 2010 and the imports orked fine.  Now, I get an error saying that there was a SDK error.  This is for PZ3s that hadn't even been opened by Poser 2012 yet.  I still have Poser Pro 2010 installed, but loading into there and resaving doesn't help. 

After getting these errors, I did try to update Vue to say Poser was in my Poser 2012 directory, and when I try to import now Vue crashes.

I am using Vue 9 Infinite.  As far as i can tell, there have been no official updates for this.  I do see 2 beta updates, but neither of those address Poser imports.

Vue 9 x doesn't support the P9/2012 sdk, and there are enough changes that the 2010 sdks simply will not work with it. Probably it will be for Vue 10 to be compatible (and maybe not right away; we don't know when they got the 2012 sdk to e-on. It may take an update or two for it to all be in there). Your best bet is to tell Vue to use 2010, and make sure you have to runtime pointing at the right iteration of Poser; otherwise, Vue will freak out demanding every single file be found....and if it runs into 2012, crashbangboom......

Unfortunately, i did have Vue using Poser 2010, and my runtime in the 2010 runtime.  I had figured that Vue would not recognize 2012, so i didn't change anything with Vue until I ran into the sdk errors after installing Poser 2012.  Before that, Poser import worked very well.  Something in the Poser 2012 install seems to have changed something but I can't figure out what.

I use PP2012 now and I can import pz3's fine..

I do not have Poser 7.  It worked fine looking at Poser 2010 before I installed 2012.  It doesn't work now. 

I guess what I am looking for is a way to get it to work for me again.  i know it works for others, and it used to work for me.

So I presume you still have it looking at PP2010 yes??

If so it should still work using that, it really doesn't matter for the most part, it's only really for finding the textures, the sdk is what is the critical element, what is that set to?

Yes, it is looking at 2010, and using the march SDK.

Hmm, then I am at a loss to suggest anything else, except maybe running the uncompress script inside Poser because Vue doesn't like compressed files..

Your tip is golden, thefixer. My Vue was configured to Poser 8, and Vue did not know the Poser 9 file. After I configured on Poser 7, everything is fine again. Crazy!

Well this didn't work for me. I installed Poser 7 back again, pointed vue 2012 to it using the March 2010 SDK, restarted vue and I can't import a damn thing all vue does is look for everything. It's like poser isn't even installed so I go poser 7 knowing what the problem is cuz I've had this happen before and add all the external runtime folders.

Now here is the most interesting part. Each I open Vue it still says it can't find anything poser so I go to Poser 7, open the program and all my external runtime folders I added are now gone. And instead the of folder at the top saying poser 7 it now says poser 8 and I didn't add any poser 8 folders to Poser 7. So I am at a total loss nothing I try, no poser version I try will import into vue now. Since Poser 7 will not hold the external runtime folders, which I find odd and never had this happen before, Vue can't find anything. So I don't know what to do now at all.

I am running windows 7 64-bit with the UAC off. It crazy because I had Poser 7 installed before. I am just wondering if I need re-install Vue 9 and then point it to Poser 7. Right now both Vue 8 and 9 are acting as if poser is not even installed which is strange because just last night everything was running like a champ.

I think it's all my fault I had Vue 8 and 9 pointed at Poser Pro 2010 with Feb2010 SDK and all was fine. I was having some clothing issues with figures when importing .PZ3 files into Vue 9. So I figured I'd try installing Poser 7 and pointing vue 9 to that with the Mar2010 SDK and that is when all the problems began. Vue can't find anything poser now. I am just wondering if I should un-install Vue 9 and start fresh.

Do you have a restore point to try?

Take it back to before you re-installed P7, see if that works..

No idea why it's acting that way for you..

Oh I wanted to ask Gwyn did Poser 7 have all the external runtimes linked to it? Or did you just have the base program installed and just pointed Vue 9 to it?

No I have Poser 6, 7 and 8 fully installed at the time, no external runtimes,I use sub folders.

I've got PP2012 and Vue 10 now though, but the other versions of poser are still there. TBH I actually still use my Poser 6 runtime, all new stuff I buy still goes in that runtime..

All is well again imports are now working from both Poser Pro 2010 and 2012 within Vue 8 and 9. I am holding off getting Vue 10 until I see more from everyday users and what their opinions are.

Glad to hear it my friend..I'm finding version 10 ok at the minute, some bugs of course but nothing I can't work around, but we're all used to that with Vue eh..!
