Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 7:34 pm)
I havent crashed yet in Vue 9 Complete, unlike previous versions though I am finding it slower to render for some reason, but still no crashes which I class as good for Vue

Are these ones that are included with Vue or ones that your may have bought/downloaded for previous versions?

I think it's down to your internal units, and also because the "Artist" atmospheres haven't been reworked to use the new internal unit options.
Dunno if you can change it in your version but set 1 Vue unit = 1 meter. Atmospheres and indirect lighting will be "real world accurate" this way, this is the best option for, well everything but the "Spectral sunshine" collection. These atmos have an Aerial Perspective set to 10, which is fine if internal units =0.1m (the old internal units), but if your internal units are set to 1m, then you need to change the AP to 1.
For some materials, you will also notice they can look odd. Simply change material size to 0.1, and everything will be back to normal.
The boring Willow tree used to crash Vue for me all the time. I guess one of the updates for Vue Infinite 9.5 finally fixed that quirk. So no more Vue crashes on my old Pentium 4 (single core).

You must have some other issues, I also have 8 Gig and I really pressure Vue with lots of Poser imports, I don't get crashes. As I said previously I believe version 9 to be the most stable incarnation of Vue for a long time..
Maybe look at other issues, drivers, conflicts, something you're maybe missing..
Injustice will be avenged.

Ok will try it agaim that way, I posted a pic I finaly managed to make good on the gallery page. It crashed again this morn. Again while I was painting a terrain. Seems that it likes to crash when doing that. I looked at the crash log. It would appear that Vue uses a a temp file(obviously) while one is doing things. Kind of reminds me of the old programing days with C. Not allowing enough memory space for the data.
Nearly all programs use a temp file while running. That's normal. Vue's Terrain Editor however, expects great things (OpenGL) from the video adapter. Otherwise, crashola.

My motherboard's Intel video adapter was disabled in BIOS so I could install a much better video adapter for Vue and other apps that use OpenGL.

I put Vue down for a couple of years, it just simply got way to expensive to upgrade. I wanted to get all the lovely new features they seemed so great. Then finaly they gave a great offer. Now I have Vue 9. How well nice to see nothing changes. Crashed 3 times today already. Seems when you edit landscape is it's favorite crash right now.
