Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 7:01 am)
You betcha! :laugh: Splitting the athletic torso would be useful. I'm really not sure there's adequate vertex density to do such detailing well on Antonia, anyway. Maybe someday someone will make an intensified version of the figure. :unsure:
And... oh! You know the distinct line, the impression, which runs down the middle of Antonia's belly? A separate morph to smooth that out might be useful. I'm not even sure what that would be called.

Afrodite, please don't wait for other products etc to be done in order to release. As long as your pack is ready, please release it. Remember that you are the first to release a comprehensive morph pack, which is almost certain to be the gold standard. What that means is that clothing creators may want to be able to include your morphs in their clothes for Antonia. So the sooner it's in their hands, the better.
Plus, I think we Poser users are an impatient lot. ;)

We are! Damn I thought it was just me that was impatient.
OK I take my apology back then! :P
Oh and I agree...the sooner released into our grubby little cramped Poser mouse hands the happier! LOL
Actually I did a new render with Antonia...the first I actually liked enough to post at my gallery at DeviantArt...and would have loved your morphs then.
Also, I mentioned this on Mike's Poser Place site, but whatever you do, I urge you to make the naming for the pack very straightforward. Buyers should know at a quick glance exactly what your product is. "Advanced Morphs," "Super Morph Pack," "Total Variation Morphs," something like that.

I'm trying to make morphs for her eyes.... ...and if I use Cinema4d with the TrueSymmetry plugin Poser tells me the result has a wrong number of polygons...
(warning - self-serving ad ahead...)
If you Import/Export .obj files using Cinema 4D's "built-in" .obj code, you will have this problem (well, the vertices get re-ordered). To avoid that issue - and generally be in Poser-Compatibility-Heaven - you'll want my Riptide Pro plugin.
Riptide Pro preserves vertex-ordering (required when making Morph Targets) and also preserves materials, grouping and even UVMapper "Regions". It also gives you tons of other options and comes with "Import/Export From Poser" presets.
(There is also an older 'free' version of the plugin, but it does not work beyond R11.5 and doesn't have Presets and many other features - but it still preserves vertex-ordering, etc.)
Cheers,
Keith

Oh. Spanki! HI!
Yes, I use your free Riptide ;) Was one of the first things I got for C4d, because I use C4d for Poser stuff since the first time I got it! Thank you for this, my C4d would be quite useless without it.
I've been eyeing the Pro version for a while. Maybe if these morphs sell well.
In any case, what was breaking things was the TrueSymmetry plugin - I don't know how it does the symmetry, but it was breaking the vertex order. Gladly, as I have ZBrush, I only needed C4d for my pupil morphs, so I was "faking" a manual symmetry: selected a single point, the same in both sizes, turned soft selection on, moved up and down only; for side movements, I used Scaling instead, so that the points would come closer together or farther apart.

Ahh - gotcha.. and thanks for the comments.

I see... I downloaded TrueSymmetry a long time ago, but never got around to playing with it... that's a shame - it may be 'rebuilding' the mesh on the fly, internally (sorta like a transparent Symmetry Object/generator).

Ahh.. yeah, I do the same thing, quite often. I also use the "Selection Symmetry" command of my Undertow plugin to help with that :)... (I feel another self-serving ad coming...)
Undertow also has some other commands useful for Poser 'newly generated Symmetrical mesh' creation (like "Group Mirror") and lots of UV-related commands. (it's commercial as well, but reasonably priced and has a 30-day free trial period).
While I'm at it, my Morph Mill plugin might also be interesting to try out when you get the time.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to your morphs - they will be very handy!

Undertow has a Group Mirror? Hmmm. You might make me go bankrupt, I was eyeing it for the UV tools (by the way, does it help at making symmetrical UVs?).
I didn't know Morph Mill, will take a look! :3

Yes, in fact I was just using it...
...I spent a fair amount of time generating and tweaking the uv-mapping for the left hand of my model (hilighted, on right) and then used the UV Symmetry command to have that mapping mirrored to the right hand.
I don't want to continue jacking your thread, so I sent you a pm :).

I suppose I could definitely try, but Antonia's limbs are a more realistic size and V4's are way too long - I'd need to use Animatable Joints (and that feature for PML to do that automatically as you showed would be invaluable help).

Also, V4's zero pose is quite different from Antonia's - for such a morph to work with the new PML, how should I go about this? Can I just ignore the joints altogether and shift the geometry in Antonia to move to where V4's body parts are?

Quote - The new pml is said to work without riptide. But ohki: would it be possible for you to make a morph fpr antonia to make her get v4 body shape? I assume that would be enough to let my autofit port v4 clothes to antonia. She does not need to bend like v4, she only needs to morph into a zero-posed v4.
you realize Wardrobe Wizard has support for Antonia, right? i totally understand if you want your own solution, but i thought i'd make sure.
I've never used WW either, I guess I'd be more comfortable with PML as I've used it a lot.
You still wanna do this, cc? How should I go about making this morph?

Quote - Ah i didnt know that. Didnt use wizard yet, when i looked it up some time ago you had to pay for each figure you want to use it with.
Antonia is supported by WW but you still need to buy the Antonia licence on PhilC site and i am not against a second way to convert some clothes for Antonia, even if most of time i use my own dynamic clothes
well, the reason i mention the WW solution is that it works with Antonia as she is, not Antonia shaped like V4 (who has almost bizarrely long arms). it automatically handles rigging, too. if you want it, that is. iirc, the most recent version supports weight maps.
the add-on packs for different figures are grouped, last i checked.
there also may be copyright issues with a V4 shape (competing figure & all that). i remember daz pitched a fit when Sixus made LilinV3 & she ended up being pulled from circulation. so just be aware & ask first before you commit a bunch of time to a V4 morph. you're really doing nice work! -jan-

It's not their mesh, there shouldn't be any problem that I know of, am I wrong? Otherwise, people couldn't make skintight bodysuits for her... AFAIK, they only can't extract her mesh for that.

Yes, in fact you can ignore the joints. The other way would be to make an Antonia morph for V4, which should work equally well. The morph is just needed to give PML a hint how to convert the shape.
I squeezed Antonia into the Cowgirl Jeans and let PML convert that to Antonia's standard shape, it worked quite well. I did a quick-and-rough fitting, but even that gave me a good result. After exporting and rigging with the weight mapped Antonia rig, I've got a working jeans. I suspect that a better morph would prevent even the pokethrough, which you can see in the image.

An Antonia shape for V4 would work all the same? I suppose that would be better to avoid problems with Daz then, I could make it a custom morph INJ to send to CC.
on another topic: I'm trying to figure out ways for users to make characters for distribution using my morphs. Does anybody know of a tool, preferably free, that will keep just the morph DIALS (not their shape information) and strip everything else from a .cr2 to make a .pz2? Most people won't want to do this by hand, and I'd rather not try to explain how to in a tutorial LMAO

I assume that it's harder then to autmatically load Antonia's bones into the new mesh. But from what I've seen and tried so far, I don't think that there is a big difference. PML can reshape from and to morphed or unmorphed shapes, as long as the geometry is similar. Loading the bones in the new figure isn't complicated, it took me lless than two minutes.

Yes exactly. That way, the user could easily distribute a character made with my morphs without actually including the morphs. They could easily include the Injector I made for the morphs without including them and add those values in the pose file created, the end user would still need the PMD file.

Probably edited for spelling, grammer, punctuation, or typos.
I think if you use PMD for exporting the mesh and creating the FMB, there should not be much of a problem with this, if WW2 can do the conversion. The meshes from PMD are welded, WW hopefully won't change the vertex order.
But that is IMHO, of course.

I don't think so - those usually read the deltas and injectors in the Morphs++'s folder, which are included one by one.
My morphs for Antonia use a single PMD for all of them, in its own folder in the libraries, and a Pose injects (mostly by readScript commands) some information in that folder:
-The actual PMD;
-FBMs to control them;
-ERC for some of the face morphs (to ajust eyes, teeth and tongue to the position and size required by the morph);
-Grouping of the morphs so they are cathegorized;
-Limits for each morph.
I made those as separate files to keep my mental sanity while making them (... I pretty much copypasted all of those by hand, removing unnecessary information, took me two days straight), but they are all injected by a single file in the Pose library. That single file I'll allow people to use and modify, so it allows them to have their characters be a single pose too (instead of requiring their end users to apply my morphs and then apply their characters), but it's worth nothing without the PMD - and should stay that way, otherwise end users won't need my morph pack. It's not a merchant resource.
But that single pose of mine only injects the morphs, all working correctly, but all zeroed. Character creators need to include in it the dial values, and that's a boring task to do by hand, that's why I'm asking for a tool to make it easier.
I already know D3d's Tool Collection is able to, I just saved a dialed character as a .cr2 and ran it through Tool Collection's ToPose in its Morphs preset. Only dial values. Saved as .pz2. Beautiful. But Tool Collection is a little bit expensive(worth every penny and more, but perhaps not for people who only need it for this specific task), and I want to give character creators some options.
