I quickly creeated a head for James in the Face Room. Lined it up ok for a test though the texture had glasses on.

Got image 1

Applied Shape and Texture to figure opted to change face color to match figure.

Got image 2.

Looked in Materials room. Saw image 3. Never had it happen before.

You have one frontal light up in the sky = way above the figure

This light effect is what you see on your texture
The head should look the same
Also a lot "whiter" on top.

Yiu see the light influence on your texture

I've gone and played with the lights, intensity, position etc. I seem to get four as a default. I can't seem to figure it out but I'll keep messing with it.

Thanks for the tip.

Delete alll lights
Put only one infinite light in the scene
The "white" on your texture preview changes as you change the position of the single infinite light.

(Or any other light. Does not HAVE to be an infinite light)

That looks like the toon preview. Are you sure you didn't accidentally switch that on? Because if it is on and you delete or add lights, the results will still look toonish.

I just started over and that worked... so I'm assuming I went HUA somewhere in the process.

I AM having a lot of trouble with lights however (New to Poser).
