Subject: PoserPro2012 - poke-throughs at chest area

colorcurvature ( ) posted Tue, 22 November 2011 at 6:18 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 10:13 PM

Hi,

wasnt there a thread somewhere that was discussing this problem? Many cloth items that I conform in Poser Pro 2012 create pokethroughs in the chest area. I cannot remember this for P7 or P8. Its a vast majority of cloth items doing this. Any shirts for M4, for example. Anybody knows how this can be fixed?

Thanks,

col

If this is occuring with V4, you will need to magnatize the clothing.  V4 uses magnests for a lot of the breast movement vs morphs.

This can also occure in the thigh area

I think this is the thread you are thinking of (burried somewhere in the middle)

http://www.runtimedna.com/forum/showthread.php?64504-I-am-extremely-underwhelmed.-(Censored-accidental-partial-nudity)/page5

This is a problem with the Luke and Laura figure, I have not seen the problem with M4 however.

This particular problem is solved in the upcoming Service Release with the introduction of an extra property setting in the conforming cloth (Match Endpoints when Conforming).

This is the explanation what the problem is  (from the readme):

 ---------------

With improvements and fixes to the conforming figure system, a few types of imprecise or erroneous states in third party content may cause that content to conform with issues. For example if content contains a combination of incorrectly saved joint origins and very tight parameter limits (0,-0), it may now behave unexpectedly. To avoid this issue, Conforming Clothing items should have end points that match the base figure and contain body parts that match the base figure's actor names

I have tested this with the Luke and Laura figures and the clothing with these problems were corrected with the new property setting

Thanks wimvdb,  I was not familiar with that problem.  I am used to dealing with V4's oddities.

I turned my clothes into dynamic clothes.

The default dynamic settings worked out fine for me.

I just tried a large set of tight fitting clothing on M4, most of the worked without any problem, but I found a few which had similar problems (not fitting around the chest area).

All of these were solved by checking the "Match Endpoints when conforming" box.

So I am pretty confident that the problems you have with the clothing are solved as well in the next Service Release

Correct me if I'm mistaken but they look like previews.  There are well known diplay oddities in Preview mode.  If it doesn't show up in renders, why worry?

Of course, if it's also there in renders, there's a real problem.

If I check the option, the chest area is repositioned and the pokethrough disappears. So, it is not a display oddity. Most clothing for M4 seems te be ok, but some tight fitting shirts have the problem
