Subject: DAZ 4 and shaders

wrpspeed ( ) posted Thu, 01 December 2011 at 4:33 PM · edited Sun, 17 November 2024 at 6:40 PM

I am learning to use Daz 4 and like most of it except one thing- shaders. I have used poser for years now and like the flexiblity of playing around in the material room. I have the daz 4 (free) edition and wonder if there is something different in the shader tabs in the pay versions? It is the only hang up i have with Daz 4 though.

thanks

The Advanced and Pro versions do have the Shader Mixer and Shader Builder, which is similar to the Poser Material Room.  The free version can use procedural shaders created in the Advanced and Pro versions, but to build or modify the networks you need Advanced or Pro.

Don't confuse similar with the same, the two are poles apart, while many of the nodes/bricks have the same names what you get out of them is totally different.

Sadly the lack of a manual and a BB of our own means most DS users avoid it, and stick with the HSS or USS and textures.
