Subject: Making Hi-Res renders with Poser???

J10001493 ( ) posted Fri, 09 December 2011 at 3:04 PM · edited Tue, 11 February 2025 at 1:42 PM

Hi everyone!

Okay, I would like to first off say, I am making a video game using Poser character bases, my own clothing and textures.

Like a real game, I would like to release some renders of the characters.

Now, how can I make some hi-res renders using Poser?

What I mean by hi-res is great quality...

and anywhere in size between 2000-3000 pixels?

I can only get my renders up to a maximum of 1024 x 768 pixels.

Is it possible to get renders much bigger than that?

I am using Poser Pro.

Please help me!

Thank you for your time! >_<

There is no such a version as Poser Pro 2008.  The proper name is PoserPro; using the proper name will minimize any confusions and address the appropriate features of your current version for exacting help.

Hi!

Do you look in Render / Render dimensions/ Render to exact resolution, there you can change the size.

Hi.

Yes, I did try that. I tried setting it to 3000 pixels and 300 dpi, but the render window size decreased to 1010 pixels.

It won't go that high. I wonder why?

Thank you anyways.

You need to use the option to render to exact dimensions and specify the size.

the dpi doesnt really matter , Poser does not use it, photoshop will to determine the print size. You can change it in photoshop.

And note, the preview window doesn't change size when you change the render size, so you will only see part of the render in the preview window until it completes.

What Markschum said, plus: *don't* click the button Match Document Window, and make sure the render size is set to Full. This setting is on the top left border of the Render window.
