This is the figure Poser 9/Poser Pro 2012 users have been waiting for: the first-ever Poser weight mapped figure released!

A very skilled, intelligent set of Poser users have just released the first-ever POSER WEIGHT MAPPED figure! We realise that it was easy to miss that nugget of information buried in that 300+ page thread, hence this announcement in its own thread.

The Poser Community needs thank all those artists who worked so hard, so diligently and so determined to bring you this FREE weight mapped figure!

May I kindly suggest the Antonia crew deserves a hand? Bravo, folks, bravo! :woot:

You can download this incredible figure here:

Oh yeah.  I was so excited, I forgot.

I released a free weight mapped outfit for those who don't want to render her nude.  You can grab some clothes for Antonia here:

http://antonia.bluecho4u3d.com/database/sites/clothing_models.htm

And, for those who can't use weight mapped clothing yet, it includes standard conforming in the link above.  Keep the weight mapped stuff for when you ugrade!

Yes, this too is Antonia!

There are virtually no limits to this girl. Antonia-WM was made for Poser 9 - and Poser 9 was made for her!

It has been a real pleasure to be involved in this project. Antonia is a wonderful character and very easy to work with. I have barely used any other character since I first set eyes on her!

Big thank you to ODF, Diogenes (Phantom3D) and others for all the fantastic work they have put into her!

Don't forget the Antonia Party on Wednesday 21st December at Poser Place where we will give and receive gifts for Antonia. Everybody is welcome!

See this thread for further details of the Party.

The clothes have to be weight-mapped, too?

Is it possible to convert regular clothes to weight-mapped?  Would WW work?

Quote - The clothes have to be weight-mapped, too?

I never tried clothing that wasn't weight mapped so I'm not sure if you can use conforming on her, but I think not.

However, if you download her, be sure to read through the PDF documentation, Appendix 5 tells you how to convert any conforming clothing to weight mapped and it's really easy to do.

I have no answer for WW either.  Not sure if that will do it, I think there was some discussion on it and perhaps PhilC is getting it done.

LadyRaine ( ) posted Fri, 09 December 2011 at 5:54 PM

depending on the pose and the clothing they don't always have to be weight mapped

ww also will convert clothing to wm though I belive you would have to have the

antonia license to do so but I am not positive

RobynsVeil ( ) posted Fri, 09 December 2011 at 5:55 PM · edited Fri, 09 December 2011 at 5:59 PM

Can it be that easy???

Converting legacy conformers to Antonia Polygon – WM

Antonia Polygon – Standard and Antonia Polygon – WM share geometry with Antonia 1.2. Conforming clothing for those characters can be converted without geometry changes using this simple process:

  • Load the geometry of the clothing item as a prop.
  • Open the Set-up Room.
  • From the library change the figure to Antonia Polygon – WM, (or use the development version). To the question whether you want to re-group answer no because the groups are the same.
  • You now have a weight-mapped conforming item. Re-name it and test it (without conforming) in the pose room. If it behaves the way you expect it to, save it to your figures library.
  • Exit and re-start Poser.
  • Test the piece with it conformed to an Antonia Figure.
  • If you want the piece for further use, open the Set-up Room and trim the rig down to the bones you need.
  • You can transfer any morphs from the existing clothing in a separate application like MorphManager.

Yes it's just that easy!!!

I've never tried this but WW for Antonia has a 'copy weightmap' option I assume this will copy the weightmap from the body into the clothes. I need to try it out now that the weight mapped version is publically available.

ETA: Thank you for those instructions, Robyn. I'll try that out soon! :)

Remember that Antonia-WM is done WITHOUT Joint Controlled Morphs. I repeat: WITHOUT JOINT CONTROLLED MORPHS!!!!

That tedious bit of work when making conforming items is done with and away. Once you have the geometry fitted (Wardrobe Wizard can do that for you), in many cases it is just going to the Setup Room and there inject Antonia-WM.

I personally have very good experience with meshes generated with Marvelous Designer: Load, inject and off you go!

What makes this such an awesome product is that it's the Poser Community that have, in one way or another, made Antonia who she is. Everyone was involved, including the people at Smith Micro! You'll see when you download and invite her into your runtime: she's like nothing else out there. She's designed for Poser from the inside-out. And she's been some years in the making.

I so love Poser for the freedom it gives us to be creative, all within one package. I so love you all for being supportive!

Now, it's your turn! Let's see what you do with P9/Pp2012 and Antonia!! 😄

Well, Wardrobe Wizard isn't working very well.  I guess I have to brave the setup room.

"Import as a prop" - does that mean import the OBJ?  What settings should I use?  I tried using the default, and it came in huge.  Would be a great outfit for "Attack of the 50 Ft. Antonia."

When importing an obj from the Geometries folder, it means it's already sized and placed to work in Poser, so untick all the options in the Import dialog ;)

We might need to touch base with PhilC to see if his Antonia support file includes WM support or no. There's a fair bit more technology (and less kludge) in Poser's weight-mapping. To my mind it should work - might need to let Phil answer to that, though.

Can you describe where the problem was, exactly, Randy?

I'm guessing the problem with the info he gave. Default import settings for .obj, resulting in huge object in scene: Poser's default imports change the percentage of the size, place the object on the floor, and something else I forgot. That's something you'd want if you import, say, a chair .obj from a site like TurboSquid. Things placed in the Geometries folder are already correctly sized and positioned for Poser, so when importing those .obj files you have to switch all the import options off.
