yes it will make a differnce but to my knowledge it is the processer that makes the biggest diffence and make sure your mother board cand handle that much ram. Some can't. right now i am useing a 1.2ghz and over 300 mb of ram and i was useing a 350mhz and liek 92 mb of ram and i can tell a big diffence between the two

Thanks i have an amd duron 700mhz so do you think it will be ok

ArchAngelofHell ( ) posted Sun, 26 August 2001 at 4:23 AM

the processing speed is fine i am pretty sure that your mother board can surpport the 256 mb add ram so i would buy the 256 mb of ram board and add that to itmine is a amd 1.2 ghz

Durons and T-Birds tend to like CAS2 SDRAM in PC-133 Type. Corsair and Mushkin are top notch brands but not the only ones. Careful on the quality. I've seen ridiculous prices but I always go the extra $10 to get the better brand. AMD CPUs are sensitive to the quality of the RAM. My Duron 800 system is a perfect example. I used my old PC-100 SDRAM on it and it some times hangs up when booting. It also at times has minor hang ups on my 3D programs. I think my old SDRAM gives it indigestion. :)

Yes, it will make a difference, yes your computer will take it, make sure you get the right kind though for your computer. Sharen

Now is indeed the time to but memory - back in Jan. I picked up 128 megs of RAM for $80; two months later, I bought 264 megs for $80. Now you can get that 264 for $35!!!! I recommend Crucial - http://www.crucial.com - they have an online "memory selector" that helps you choose the correct type and amount of memory for your computer. Jeff

I had a hard disc failure, was going to just replace, ended up rebuilding the complete works (okay I have 2 teccies in the family) and see the difference every day, more ram, more speed and a better response all round.

As the previous answers said too.... and my personal believe and also testing .... by the order of : 1. RAM 2. Proccesor 3. VGA CARD These are the combination if you get into Modelling and the other way around if you get into tweaking......
