Subject: Looking for specific brushes

Hi everyone. I'm relatively new here. I'm a romance writer, but I dabble in graphics and webdesign. I'm working on redesigning my website at the moment and I'm in need of a little help.

I want to create a graphic for my website which will also be featured in one of my book series. I'm trying to see if anyone has brushes for Adobe Photoshop(Photoshop Elements) that are runes, hieroglyphs, petroglyphs, etc.

If anyone knows where I can find brushes like this, please let me know. Thanks a million.

Hi Shay

Idon't have this kind of brushes, but I can make them! Don't you make your own brushes?

Monica,

No I've never made my own brushes. I'm not even sure where to start to do that. :) My graphics skills tend to be more toward using others images(although I can take some great pictures) and creating banners, buttons etc. for websites and the like. I even made the cover art for a round robin some friends and I did for Christmas.

If you could point me in the direction of where to learn how to make brushes I'm sure I could learn how to do it. Thanks.

You can use a drawing or photograph as the source for a brush, and you can adjust size, intensity, etc. I am sending below two links to tutorials. Once you get a grasp of the basic technique, it is fairly easy to make your own brushes and adap them to your needs as you please.

If you need some more help, I will be glad to help!

There are many fonts that can be used in Photoshop to produce the effect you want.  You can make brushes of the font characters if you wish.

Hope this helps...Dani

Thank you very much, Dani. The links do help very much. I'm on a time crunch to get the new site fixed and finish the first book in the series that the graphic I'm working on is for. It probably would have taken me hours or even days to find the right stuff.
