Last night it worked fine with I d/led my weekly freebie.  This morning, molasses.  Their webpages are not well constructed.

They've been slow lately, but I notice their site is worse in the mornings.

Store is frequently  so slow to load/change page that it makes a snail look like an olympic sprinter.

Forums are as bad, if not worse.

It seems to have let up a bit now.

same for me.  Their old store was one of the best and fastest on the internet,  since there is the new one, I experience slow response quite frequently, and also it's buggy.

What doesn't work for me at all any more is to check out a non-free DAZ original paid in full using vouchers. I've an order stuck since 26th, and their helpdesk isn't staffed between Xmas and New Year. Guess I have to wait until next year...

I've discovered that stuff wasn't going into my wishlist  If I wasn't logged it; It would propmt me for a login and go to the wishlist, but not actually add it to the wishlist....

Yesterday couldn't get in the store at all, got on there today, but couldn't get into forums.

I got a message: "We have detected that you do not have DAZ Studio or Genesis on your computer. Click below to download DAZ Studio 4 and Genesis, then you may access the marketplace."

JUST KIDDING! It was a joke! Making fun of ourselves and our conspiracy theories. Please don't anybody have a fit or lock the thread!

Seriously, I haven't had any problems moving around on the site today (Dec. 31), and even managed to find something for V4 to spend my voucher $ on before it expires tonight.

Hmm...I got on earlier and it was fine...doesn't surprise me about about the Genesis requirement tho. Those pesky aliens

I just got my free Gorilla and I don't really know what a Genesis is.

Something to do with DAZ Studio 4 perhaps. I find DAZ Studio a pain in the neck to use, don't understand it, and don't have time to learn an all new counterintuitive software. The Youtube tutorial left me mystified.

I like gorillas, and I like free, so I'm thinking ahead.

I noticed a slight lag while downloading things on sale tonight, but nothing fatal.

To the humorless: this was a JOKE...lol. There is no DS4/Genesis requirement to download anything at Daz ;).

Genesis is the new technology Daz is using for their figures from here on in. One mesh - just about any shape using weight mapping (but not compatible with Poser Pro 2012's weight mapping). It only works inside DS4 at this point but an exporter from DS to Poser is in it's rudimentary stage and included in the current version of DS4. Hope that clears it up :)

I'm not entirely comfortable with the concept of a single mesh that can produce a gorilla, a giraffe, a 10-speed bicycle, a zucchini, or Victoria 5. That's taking "one size fits all" a bit too far. 

(Again, humor in a situation that has been entirely too humorless!)

I think Talos was saying he got the free gorilla to use at some point when Genesis works in Poser.

Well, I didn't mean that exactly. It's clearly marked that the gorilla will only work in DS4 and Genesis....lol.

I meant that you can download anything you want from Daz whether you have Genesis or not. Now, being able to use it without Genesis is another matter completely....lol. But not everything at Daz and in their free section is just for Genesis and DS4 :).

doubt that'll ever happen

genesis can use V4 and M4's uvs.  there's a possibility the gorilla texture may work on V4 or M4, or not.

but if you can't get it to install at all it's a bit of a moot point ain't it...already deleted it from my computer

Okay, I'm the most confused person on the forum and I've been using Poser since it came out on 3 floppies in 1995.

I understood/read that the Genesis was part of DAZ Studio, but I must have misunderstood again. I downloaded and installed the latest DAZ Studio, supposedly with Poser export capabilities.

I thought fine, I'll see if I can install the gorilla in Daz Studio??

To see if it even shows up??? (Feeling like one of those teenagers who ends every sentence with a question mark)

I couldn't use the gorilla because I got the error message pictured above by Bobbystahr.

I feel very...unintelligent! -Like a chimpanzee trying to use a revolver.

I don't get it.
