Subject: Scaling Morphs on Genesis in PP12

I've exported Genesis to PP12 and used Generation X to load it with all the morphs needed to convert my previous characters.  The result works great...except for the fact that the scaling morphs don't transfer well.  Does anyone have any ideas why this happens and how I might correct it?  I suspect it's an issue of the different software algorithms, since I tried exporting a version of Genesis with its chest already scaled up from DS4 into Poser, but the result loaded with the same mesh problems as I get when I load the exported default Genesis and try to use the scaling dials (see attached pic).  Any help will be greatly appreciated, even if it's just to say "sorry, you'll just have to wait until Poser develops better support for Genesis."  At least then, I'll know for sure.

"sorry, you'll just have to wait until Smith Micro and/or DAZ develop better support for Genesis in Poser."

It is not going to happen any time soon. Even with this problem solved, there are still many issues left before you get any decent looking genesis in Poser

Well, I don't know about that.  Even without the ability to morph different proportions, I just did a couple of Genesis renders in Poser (the second of which is in my gallery) that didn't look noticeably worse than the same scene would using V4 or M4.  I almost never do anything besides realistic humans, so I can mostly work around the body-part scaling issue.  I just would've liked to have had functional scaling morphs available in my toolkit for my own peace of mind and for the rare occasion when I actually do need some drastically different proportions.

I thought I heard something about a Beta version of Daz 4 that exported Genesis to Poser?

The exported genesis figure is not really suited for closeups. Look at the ears for example.

Poser smoothing helps, but is too general.

Clothing does not conform well when a tiny bit of scaling is involved such as the V5 morph or child or whatever.

Even with unscaled figures there are clothing issues which are solved in DS4 with autosmoothing. The only alternative here is to go and use the morping tool and become a real good expert

UV map switching is not supported in the exporter, like geocrafting

That is just what I remember from last time I played with it.

The latest free version of Daz does have a CR2 exporter. I don't use Daz, so haven't tried it.

I do not think that genesis was designed to use the same kind of scaling that the gen 4 characters use.
