Can Daz Studio 3 and 4 co-exist on same computer without any known problems?

Yes, they can.

just keep them on different HDs

Mine are on the same HD but different folders seem to work fine

yep it does work ok  but can eat up a HD big time before ya know it  you are out of space i put 4 on one and 3 on the other  but not the content i use 4s' content for each

yeah they can PoppaC but then again they also work more fluidly together with them on the same hdd and your content on a different drive

you're welcome just remember you may not wanna always install your new content in the default manner if its just reg items  but all meta data shoult be installed default so that the ds4 stuff is recognized

So to add to what someone said about using a different HDD, Can I install DS4 Advanced on my 2nd internal drive "G"  which has a lot more room than my boot drive or will there be any problems or conflicts with DS4 Basic on my C drive?

You can't have 2 versions of DS4, even on different drives. Its essentially the same program with different plugins activated.

...but you can have DS2, DS3 and DS4 all installed like I have! 

If you have win7 pro or ultimate (or enterrprise) there is a way round it.

Actually, you can install two different versions of DS4 as long as you use separate accounts on your machine to do so. However, the CMS is a shared database so you will need to make your content directories shared folders (not in the Documents folder, ideally, though that can be made to work) in order to use metadata and categories. However, as prixat says the application is the same (as far as the 32 bit version goes), it's just a question of which plugins are enabled.

Right now, my "DAZ3D" folder is in My Documents.  So what do I need to do to continue using that folder for everything I've already installed like V4 & all related morphs, plus poses, clothes, props, lights, etc? 

Do I move that folder in My Documents to my G drive when I install DS4 Advanced there? Since that is not my boot drive will DS4A install & work properly there?  I don't want to have to start over on re-installing everything from scratch after I upgrade.

Are you going to be installing DS4A using a different account on the computer? If so, you can just share the existing folder with the other user (before installing DS4A) and point the content installation to that folder (there's no difference in the content between DS4 and DS4A, though if the version numbers a re different that may cause issues). If you don't do that the only problem (aside from not being able to access the content) will be that all the SmartContent in the new install will show up as a bad reference.

You don't have to do anything to upgrade to advanced, other than enter the serial number - the discussion was about having both versions active, which does require using different accounts so that they can have different serial numbers.

OK, that's good. I never needed both versions active. No point in that.  I was just thinking about replacing DS4 Basic on C drive with DS4 Advanced on the other(and larger) internal drive. I may just install DS4A on the C drive though just to ensure there are no problems. 

I use 32 bit DS and 64 bit DS on 64 bit OS at the same time constantly, especially when I have a big scene and I need to modify a figure, I bring it into the other version, save it and pull it up into the other one. it makes navigating much easier.

The only prob I had was loading the genesis morph bundle.  It refused to load on 4 took me a while to figure out it would go on 3 and DAZ and there boards never answered when I first told them I could not get it to load.  Very frustrating!!!!
