Subject: Dev Rig for Alyson 2

Lully ( ) posted Mon, 23 January 2012 at 4:08 PM · edited Wed, 29 January 2025 at 2:32 PM

I can't seem to find an alyson 2 dev rig, only one for alyson 1 in pp2012

Does anyone know how to strip the morphs from her easily without having to go through the pain staking process of deleting them one by one, which is already driving me mad. :(

Or better still, is there a cr available?

Thanks

It's a tricky one to make :) believe me I've made a few.

I used Poser File Editor 3 by Dimension 3D to delete all the morphs, it's real quick takes no time at all and is a marvelous editor with lots of handy functions for Poser stuff.

While that would normally be it, you may find that on her leg parts (even though she is at zero pose) some of the rotations (xrot, yrot and zrot) are not zero.  This only shows up when you use it to make a new conformer.  At which point conforming to Alyson 2, your nice new clothes go nuts around the legs.  It took me a while to track them down :) but all you have to do is set any non zero values in the previously mentioned rotation channels to 0.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks John

I have found a morph manager in the last couple of minutes over at morphography's site which looks promising, if not then I will have a look at the editor you mentioned.

Yes I found odd things happening with her legs after weight mapping a pair of shorts, her legs are off by 12 on the bend and 2 on the twist, even though I have modelled the items both with the bend and on a zero'd figure they still don't work when conforming and posing even when I alter it and resave, will have to check out the rigging to see if i can make it permanent in the set up room (Not very good with rigging and weight mapping is very mind boggling) will have to play around with that to work out the best way to sort it.

Thanks again :)

you make it permenant by updating the CR2, on the thighs and shins (as I remember) there are non 0 values against xrotate, zrotate and yrotate.  You set those to zero in the blank CR2, that stops the legs going nuts.

Yes, you can use Morph Manager 4 to delete all the morphs at once, but there is a trick that you need to know. Before you load the cr2 that you are going to process into MM4, first you need to load a pz2, any pz2. Loading a pz2 forces MM4 to display a new button named "More Options". Now load the cr2 into the same window as you loaded the pz2 into, click the "More Options" button, and select "Delete all morph targets from file".

The above will delete all the targetGeom (morph) channels from the cr2, but it won't delete the valueParm (FBM) channels. You will need to go into the BODY actor and delete the valueParm channels manually.

I had the problem with the bent legs too when I rigged a pair of leggings for Anastasia. I solved it by zeroing the clothes figure and then memorizing it, (Edit: Memorize: Figure) and then saving to the library. That seemed to work.

I would suggest that the best way to zero the rotations is to do it in Poser in the Joint Editor, with IK off. Then Memorize the figure. This ensures that not only are the 'keys' values zeroed, but also the initValue, and any staticValue that may have been set. In addition to the rotations, you should also check that the translations of the BODY and hip are zeroed and memorized.

That is the trick I was trying to remember the other day,  thank you! I wanted to see the morphs in the Body which shows after you do the pz2 .
