expand with unarchiver.app (free) or stuffit expander (free from smith micro).  then use phil's runtime install tutorial.  if it's an old daz file, then it may try to install itself.  content providers should be aware that zip is the native compression format for OS X.

[here's another page to try](http://www.philc.net/unzip.php), but it may require to knowing how to install content before one can use it.  the most frequent problem new users have with poser is how to install content. one can also try the poser/content/install from zip archive button (see attached image), after converting the file to zip.  my method:
  • decompress the file
  • see if it contains a runtime folder
  • make sure the runtime folder is enclosed in a folder with a distinctive name
  • drag the folder enclosing the runtime folder to poser/downloads folder.

A .sit file is a compressed file format-similar to a zip file.

If you open with stuffit expander- it should behave just like a zip file. Then you can manually place the files in your runtime.

If you get an old Daz installer as a result you may not be able to use it in OSX 10.7- this is a common problem- and Robynsviel suggested a program called "Wine Bottler" that allows you to run simple .exe based installers on the Mac. To do so you would have to download the PC installer for the Mil Baby and run it through Wine Bottler.

pov, post a screenshot of the expanded sit file, showing all filenames and extensions.

As the MilBaby is from DAZ, the SIT file will contain an installer.

I wouldn't be surprised if the item is old enough for the installer to be one of the VISE ones that won't run under the more recent versions of MacOS.
You might get to the heart of the matter quicker by asking in the -> Macintosh forum.

The two things you can do are :- 1) Contact DAZ support and either ask for the installer to be updated, or a refund.

  1. Download the PC installer, install on a PC and transfer the files.

daz may allow an in-store credit to users who bought OS 9 self-extracting archives within the last 30 days, provided OP is unable to use a PPC with classic emulation, a dual-boot PPC or OS 9 computer to extract it.  if daz will supply a PC installer file, use crossover on an intel mac to extract the PC files.  if the file was not downloaded from daz, caution is advised.

I actually still have a dual-boot PPC with classic emulation, but haven't used it much.  nor can I convert OS 9 self-extracting archives for others without permission from daz.
