Subject: Pose INJ from a CR2, help!

DarksealStudios ( ) posted Mon, 27 February 2012 at 12:46 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 10:57 PM

Hi All,

I'm making morph injections for Antonia and need some help. I'm using PoserPro2012 and loading in full body morphs. Instead of using PMD's I'd like to make this one PZ2 with morph data... but I kinda forget how to do it keeping all the FBM dials.

I'm sure I save it to the library without checking off "use external binary", so no pmd is created.... I'm sure I then open the cr2 in an editor (Poser file editor)..... and I'm sure I can go to target geometry and save as text and paste into a text file and rename it to a pz2.....

Will this keep my FBM master dials on "Body"?

And my main question...... Is there an EASIER way to do it when making 40 FBM's?? I don't want to have to copy each one and paste it...!!

I AM adding these morphs to DEV figure. So, is there an easier way to convert this CR2 into a Pz2 INJ file?

Thanks in advance!

The morphs themselves are targetGeom channels, but the FBM dials in the BODY are valueParm channels. You need to copy over these valueParm channels as well. When not using PMD, you need to inject into PBMCC channels, as a pose can't create new targetGeom channels, it needs to use ones that already exist in the figure.

Look at the post "How to make Delta (morph) Injection Poses for Custom Morphs?" on this page, it describes various ways of making INJ poses for custom morphs (morphs you made yourself). I'm not sure if the "SpawnCharacterP6 update" py script mentioned in that post still works in the latest versions of Poser. If not you can use "Pozers Little Helper", this is a stand-alone Windows application, so not dependant on Poser versions.

Thank you lesbentley, I think Antonia already has pbmcc in her, I'm not sure how many though...... and I would have completely forgotten about doing it on the "body", but of course how else would it translate to having FMB dials.....

But I guess what I really want to know is... If I do all of this on a DEV figure, and save it to the library as a cr2 without using PMB (to keep all geo target data inside the cr2).... Can I use "Poser File Editor" to automatically turn this Cr2 into a PZ2 for INJection?

Maybe PhilC could give me a clue... or anyone else that has used PFE to do a similar funtion? Like, use the filter somehow.... then do some other magic.... and BAM!?! PZ2?

The PZ3editor has the ability to create morph INJ/REM pose files. With it you just need to select the pose and choose a file name to save to.

I guess the lite version wont do? And PFE doesn't do it either?

Another alternative, is Dimension3D Binary Morph Editor.  It lets you load a cr2 and select the Morphs you want, then make either INJ / REM poses that either embed the morphs in the pose file or inject from a PMD file. Amongst other things that it does.

As to PFE, I'd contact Dimension3D directly by e-mail with your question, I've contacted him several times with questions I've had using his other utilities and got them answered rather promptly. He should be able to provide you with an answer/explantion explaining how to do what you want witht PFE. :D   No since purchasing something else if what you have already will do what you need.

Edited to add PFE comment.

The d3d binary morph editor says its for pmd's... I want the morph data in the pz2... Not a pz2 to inject a pmd. I make those by hand and they don't take much time at all.

As far as asking about the poser file editor.... Yes please!!

Please read again my statement about Binary Morph Editor, as I said it will also make INJ poses with the morph data embedded in the pose file, thus not requiring a PMD.  It allows you a choice of which method you prefer to use.

And sorry if you misunderstood about PFE, I meant you should contact Dimension3D with your question, not I.  I personally don't own PFE so have no idea what it can and cannot do. Sorry if there was confusion on that point.  I have sent an e-mail asking if he would mind possibly coming to the forum and providing you an answer.

Binary Morph Editor can create morph injection poses from a PMD file for both, binary morph injections and classical morph injections (the latter requiring existing injection channels). Antonia (standard and weight mapped) has injection channels with the usual naming convention PBMCC_xx, where xx ranges from 00 to 49.

Poser File Editor may be used to create classical morph injections as well. In the simplest case, you use "Tool > Filter" to filter all morphs and value parameters (i.e. remove anything else). Because of how Poser applies poses, the result is already a morph injection pose. Additionally, you may use the morph editor to remove morphs that you don't want in the injection pose. You also may need to rename the targetGeom, valueParm, and valueOpDeltaAdd names to be PBMCC_xx.

The morph editor of Poser File Editor has also a more advanced feature to create morph injection poses. With the two leftmost buttons, you may create a single injection pose or even single injection poses for each selected morph.

So what is the best way to do this IYO? For example, if I have a morph spanning the whole body called "thin"... Can I do a find/replace, and what would that look like?

find "targetGeom thin" and replace with "PBMCC_49 thin"?? and then for fat do the same but do PBMCC_48?

I really really appreciate the help!!!

Ahhhhhhh...... replace "thin" with "PBMCC_49".... and LEAVE the "targetGeom" etc... all except where it says "name thin"...... Right?

Dimension3D ( ) posted Wed, 07 March 2012 at 10:03 PM

If you have the following code in BODY:

valueParm thin
{
...
}

And the follwing in the actors:

targetGeom thin

{
...
valueOpDeltaAdd
Figure 1
BODY:1
thin
deltaAddDelta 1
}

Then, you need to replace the word thin at these places (behind valueParm, behind targetGeom, and below valueOpDeltaAdd) by PBMCC_49.

I was doing ok in text until i make one little mistake.... now one of my FBM doesnlt link to a body part... There are soooo many to replace. I guess I just have to take it slow...

Thanks for the info and the help!! I tried to replace all, but if I do that then all the names will be replaced with PBMCC_xx

You can also use the Morph editor in PoserEd to check or fix the valueOpDeltaAdd connections.
