Impressing lines are to see, in your photo, Tara.

It is also interesting to see the environment in which Bill you live.

Greetings,
Mies.

This is the Catholic church, which stands in our street, halfway upwards the mountain. As you can see, from 1739. Now a recent photo. Although I am not Catholic, I often saw the interior of this church.

People from throughout our province want to get married in this church, because the location is beautiful, as well as the intimate inside.

Impressive church and capture Mies.

Good subject here. Ok. It's been shot to death by the world and his wife, but it is all a Londoner and principally a nature photographer has. Taken Saturday 10th

Superb capture and upload Ronoir.

God Bless.

Thanks Christo, god bless you too :}

auntietk ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2012 at 11:16 AM

That's a beautiful old church, Mies!  I can see why people want to get married there.  You have such wonderful architecture in your area ... if I were in your town, I would never get anything done, because I would be out taking pictures of every building I saw!  LOL!

An iconic shot, Ronnie ... it's wonderful!  I'd love to see more architectural work from you.  Your area is full of wonderful buildings that I haven't seen yet!  After I'm done in Mies's town, I'll pop over to London and spend the rest of my life shooting there.  :P  Too much to see!!!

And you would be very very welcome Tara, when honey comes over again, she'll doubtless drag me all over London for buildings, both day and night i expect LOL!

But I will have to see what buildings I can shoot for you if I get the chance that is, this old body abhors walking about too much these days :D

kgb224 ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2012 at 11:27 AM

I will be waiting for more buildings Ronnie.

Glad to see you here my friend.

God Bless.

dochtersions ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2012 at 11:54 AM

It's so surprising this POV, Ronoir.

Thanks all for your nice reactions.

And well Tara, our time will be too short to take all those (old) stuff here around, in each corner something else, LOL!

God bless
and greetings :)

LOL Clive, I am to post that image picking up on the date and time :}

Adobe_One_Kenobi ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2012 at 6:30 PM

Thanks dochtersions  at first i thought it was not really a good POV, because the tower looks like it is growing out of the bus LOL

Here is the perfectly hideous shard building in London, I hate this as much as I hate the gherkin, the only reason I shot this was a record shot of the way it is disappearing into the low rain clouds we had on Saturday 10th.

auntietk ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2012 at 10:58 PM

If you take the top off that building, will you find a squirter button in there, like perfume spray?

LOL!

Santa Barbara Mission

dochtersions ( ) posted Wed, 07 March 2012 at 12:55 AM

So much interest details are to admire on your upload, mbz2662.
Looks like it's recently restored, because the colors look like new, especially against the blue sky.

Indeed, no beauty to the surroundings, Ronoir; but I see what Tara meant, and that makes it fun.
For me anyway it is interesting to see this, as I didn't know London has more high buildings otherwise as the BB. :D

auntietk ( ) posted Wed, 07 March 2012 at 1:05 AM

Cool shot, Melinda!  I love all the details.  Nicely seen!

I know that we must go out and take pictures for this challenge.

Bit lazy to do so at the moment.

So here is some captures captured during my holiday in the Western Cape.

First upload is the City Council building in Robertson.

On the 26 of December 2011  I walked nearly all the streets in Robertson making it possible to share these captures.

Santa Barbara mission was restored in 1927 and towere reinforced in 1953.  It had been destroyed by an earthquake in 1925.

Beautiful buildings, Christo!  I particularly like the first one with those windows and arches.  Gorgeous!

Thank you Melinda for the info. The restoration has preserved very well.

What special building and church, Christo.
I like that green color on the roof.
The architecture here is real art.

We went out yesterday shooting architecture ... yay!  :)  Here's my first post for the second week of the challenge ... it's the parking-side entrance of the Lynnwood Convention Center.

And here's my second post for this week ... it's the same building, but the next corner around to the right.  I've been meaning to get over there and take pictures of this place for ages, but since it's only a few miles from my house, I never think of it.  :P

For some weird reason, I only took a few photos of this place and none were very good.  But, I thought it was interesting enough to share.  This is the "Franceschi House" in Santa Barbara.  The plaster medallions covered the house and they were added in the 1920's to commemorate Dr. Franceschi and other great Italian immigrants and figures from American history.

Welcome to The Paramount.  It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Paramount is an excellent example of the art deco motion picture palaces built in the late 1920's and early 30's. The restoration retained the Paramount's opulent, richly embellished interior. The original Venetian-styled murals and the art deco ambience were faithfully recreated. The auditorium holds 756.          I got this info. from the paramountcenter.com. :))) We were in there watching "Chris Thomas King" during The Bristol Rhythm and Roots here in VA in Sept. 2011. :)))))))

This is creative architecture at its best. Not the letter of the contest but the spirit for sure.

This hive probably took 20 or more years to build. The hive was in a HUGE tree that was hollow in the center, it extended for 8-10 vertical feet.

Ok this one is a little more in line with the theme of the contest.

Hi friends,

Interesting to see how much the various styles in designs. Those of Tara, tight, and then the other again so much different, from romantic to very chic.
Architecture is a big topic here.
Greetz to all!
