Subject: Had to reinstall all Poser 8 content on new computer... now can't find Michael (

I reinstalled Poser 8 and the over 10GB of content, including D3 and M4 base and ++morphs but when I do search for Michael all I get in return is 'DyingSlave-Michael4' (a pose).

Where is my Michael 4? Any ideas? And yes, everything is loaded under: SmithMicro>Poser>Runtime

If you have Windows 7 or Vista - wrong place to install

Poser 8 installs its runtime data by default in C:UsersPublicDocumentsPoser 8 Content

That is where you have to install the content - or - use another external library. Windows Vista and Windows 7 do NOT like runtime data to be installed in Program Files (or Program Files (86).

Best thing to do is to create a new runtime on your data drive, use that runtime to install everything and then attach that runtime to Poser 8. You can do the same in later versions of Poser and never have to move the data

I always use external runtimes ... for exactly that reason.

I go so far as to put it all on the D drive. Stay away from C all together.

My runtimes all live out on the J partition ... the only thing on my C drive is what has to be there ... and it gets a backup every weekend.
