I haave tried to upload a picture to the forum using several sizes, etc and I keep getting this

"There was an error uploading your file. Your message was saved without it. Your file exceeds the maximum file size limit. "

I have hunted and cannot find the correct specs for the upload

What is the correct size

Thank you

Steve

I think it has to be under 256kb.

Resolution doesn't matter.

It's 512 kilobytes.

You can typically keep the image size the same if you save as a .jpg and then save at 90% or whatever it takes to get the image under the limit.

Or save the image for web in a 2d program where you can control the quality.  By inputting the max size, the image will be automatically set to the correct quality.

Yep .. I'd "save for web". That should be the easliest for you. :)

If you're on Windows, you can use RIOT or Interactive JPEG Optimizer. They're handy when you don't want to fire up an image editor like PhotoShop. RIOT also works as a plugin for a couple of iname viewers.
