Subject: Lost content library connection.

I was attacked by malware and after removing this now with poser 2012 loading from factory state cannot get my external runtime to load in content library. I know there is a simple answer but I am stumped. Any ideas please? If I 'add library' message reads runtime already loaded - but it does not have any content.

semidieu at rdna may be able to help you.  He has lots of scripts that can do lots of things eg load a whole folder full of runtimes back into poser all in one hit.

Love esther

Did you happen to get the System Fix virus? Everything on your desktop disappeared, your folders, etc?

If that's the case you need to run something called Unhide. I believe it's on mybleepingcomputer.com. If you do a search for "unhide.exe" you'll find it on their site. Run that and your software should now be able to find most everything and you'll be able to see most everything again as well.

Brilliant Laurie - the dissapearing/blurred out stuff is back and so to is my runtime library content. Thank you. I had wondered why some of the desktop icons were blurry. Thanks again.

I only know what it is cause I got it too...lol. Went looking for some wallpaper, landed on a page and BOOM. Ugh.

Glad you got it worked out :). That is probably the worst virus I've ever had - and I really haven't gotten many. But this one was really bad. And NoScript and my AV's realtime protection did nothing to stop it. Kinda scary.

One more thing. Now that you have the virus gone, turn off System Restore, reboot and then turn it back on. Flush it and you'll feel better that it didn't get into your system restore files ;).

Glad you mentioned it. I think I rely a bit too much on NoScript, especially when doing Google image searches for my favorite artists.
