yeah i know about the tutorials...and just found the poke away...gonna make the purchase and ill post the results...thanks for the replies......hopefully good news in the next post

You shouldn't need Poke Away, as it is now possible to hide Genesis body parts (it wasn't in the first release, Poke Away was a tool to get around that by shrinking specific parts - there may be soem cases where it will work better than hiding parts, but on the whole it is superseded.

i used genx to convert the v4 corset inj to genesis, then applied that shape and added the corset. worked great.

filthian ( ) posted Sat, 21 April 2012 at 11:05 PM

also...my genx says "figure not supported" for v4 base

filthian ( ) posted Sun, 22 April 2012 at 10:27 AM

what i am doing is....drag n drop inj (full body corset) into...genx...only tab it appears in is the preset tab...then im lost...

filthian ( ) posted Sun, 22 April 2012 at 10:08 PM

...got genx to work...install location was the error...for figure support...im using linux/wine/POL

got an injection morph to work with genesis...for corset body and works perfect...now trying to make a dial morph of corset body...from genx...

any help on "genx how to" or good a location for tutorials would be greatly appreciated

thanks for your help all

filthian ( ) posted Sun, 22 April 2012 at 10:47 PM

i am ...mostly... having trouble getting the dial to have an effect...no effect right now...i did leave the "value" at 0 though then created single morph...going to crank it up and try again...

  • 1.0 value seems to work

tutorial comment = ... wish there was a video tutorial...better than the 1 with the text ballons

...im slow at this genx...

@SickenlySweete

got the genx working with morphs from corset package...

i created dialed and preset style moprhs...

i implemented the morphs ( both styles) and applied corset with auto-fit...

still poke threw ...in the end of auto-fit the corset seems like its fitting properly and then disappears under genesis figure (with basic female dialed 100%  and corset body inj dialed 1.0)

if u have this specific corset clothing item ... please reply... really cant find a fix...

wondering what im doing / or whatis going wrong

also tried transfer utility

Here are some instructions that I use and they work for me. They are based on various postings by others before me:

V4 to Genesis via GenX Steps

  1. Load Victoria 4.2.cr2 into the scene using the Power Loader (which happens by default for me).

  1. Specify what extras you want in the Power Loader dialog that comes up.

  1. Apply new Character e.g. Riona (Body & HEAD) to V4

  1. Export (File | Export) the figure in your scene as a .cr2. Apparently this needs to go in a runtime directory, such as RuntimelibrariesCharacter. I added a new folder "GenXV4Morphs" under this location and put it there. Choose Poser Version Tag = 9 and Figure Type = Base Figure.

  1. Open GenX (Windows > Tabs) and drag this .cr2 into GenX from where ever you put it or use Load Figure.

  1. Select all the morphs, right click in the GenX tab and choose All : Transfer: On Non-Zero Values

  1. Use “Create Single Morph”. This gives you a single morph and works OK for setting Dial to 1

  1. Use the default "Replace existing files (keep backup)"

  1. Check "Transfer conditional morphs" and "Transfer dial groups" and “Transfer controlled transforms.”

  1. Name the Morph in the Name area in the window that appears

  1. Push the Transfer button.

  1. Restart Studio (just make a new scene) and load Genesis.

  1. Apply the V4 shape in the Parameters > Actor tab

  1. Look at the result under the Parameters tab (or Shaping tab). All of the GenX morphs appear under Actor > Generation X and Actor > Head > Generation X. Apply your new figure by sliding the dial to 1.0

  1. Go back to Categories > People > V4.2 > Characters > Riona (or which-ever figure you are using and apply make-up, eyes, materials, etc.

ok the only way to make this corset fit is to use the poke away i posted above...heres what i did...........

create the inj corset body morph with genx

load genesis

select v4 body shape

select the corset morph shape

load the corset and auto fit to v4

then use poke away to solve the problem....

the reason the corset wont work is because it was not modeled to v4 but to a modified one .....to solve this one would need to run the corset thru either cross dresser or ww2 and convert it from v4 to v4 so it has the exact v4 base shape then load and autofit.

--- is there a way to convert v4 to v4

im getting an  error = converting same figure - pop up...i tried adding morphs .. but still get the same error

v4 to v4 (with or without morphs) = error = converting same figure

SickenlySweete ( ) posted Fri, 27 April 2012 at 7:58 PM

i use ww2 to convert from the same figures, what program are you trying to use?

crossdress i believe has to have the special v4 morphs addon pak to convert v4 to v4

k...i was trying to use xdresser...

so far i am now trying this....d-form corset on to my shaped genesis figure...hide genesis...and learning about how to export the morphed corset as a clothing item (and get the corset to take the morphs permanently)..and add altered clothing item to runtime...

is this possible...?

as far as i got -- covernt to triAX weight map...then export as .cr2

but .cr2 corset bottom is crumpled...

still working close to 80hrs a week right now..n got a fever....so  progress is slow

seriously though thanks for your help

SickenlySweete ( ) posted Sat, 28 April 2012 at 2:12 PM

do you have hexagon or some other modeler?

if so you could alter the corset to the regular v4 shape and then save that as an obj, and import that obj as a morph with morph loader in ds to the corset?

this may work.

covernt to triAX weight map i don't think can be saved as a cr2, but as a dsf -ie ds file option. in a ds format file folder. same as what genesis is.

yeah i have hexagon...downloaded the free version..havnt tried it out yet...still learning DS4 (on a fast track)...sounds strange maybe ...but this i how i learn...by creating something and finding out what i need to do to create the image in my mind...blahblahblah...i have learned a good amount of DS4 so far...this type of manipulation we are discussing is close to my last steps...

.cr2 seems to export fine...into a empty (but setup with proper folders) "Runtime"

above is result of dform/morphed export as .cr2

below is the working file of corest morphed to my liking (notice the mid section is less sinched)

i used the dformer for this quick manipulation...spawned dformer morph...dialed the morph...n gotta find the proper way to get both the applied morph and clothing item out/saved together...again progress is slow right now do to this thing called life...lol...money makin money money makin...

maybe this is the wrong route to take for this kind of editing...but im thinkn its this close...there has to be  a way (im not sure of yet) to make above image a finished clothing item....

til then ...sleep then more work...14days straight right now
