He has some very low res modles (eg Jane pictured above, or Lettermen), and would probably let you use them for free. The following is a quote from his site:
"If you are looking for a model and have failed to find one in Renderosity's marketplace or freestuff, or anywhere on the net, contact me for a price. Generally I charge nothing, or only a few pounds providing I can post it at a later date on this site."
It doesn't matter that they have a rig - in fact maybe that's a plus because users can compare their own work with what is there.
Just start with the OBJ and build the rig from scratch.
While you're at it, teach them how to use new materials, too.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
Has no one seen this? I mean, it kind of bums me out that Darrell and I went through all this trouble and nobody knows it exists.

Bagginsbill- Looks like a good way to go. I'll unzip the .obz reference and drop it into Modo and UV mapper just to show how external programs work in creating UV templates (that's one reason why I would've liked an original figure).
Teyon- I'm FULLY aware of the tutorial with the Nathan figure. I did think of asking Jason Cozy if I could use it in my title, but thought I might tread on toes. However, if I used it in my video, it would be good exposure!

I found it previously Teyon, cheers... and bookmarked for reference in due course ;-)
if your not too bothered about "beauty" then u can make a doll in make human(http://www.makehuman.org/ ) export as object and rig to whatever you like . might find it easier to group in a modeler but I hate posers grouping tool lol

Hi guys.
Tearing my hair out here- I'm looking for a simple figure model in OBJ format that's ready for rigging in Poser.
I'm authoring a video training title, and I want the figure to be used in the sections about rigging and texturing. The figure doesn't have to be detailed, just enough to have enough body parts to show rigging and JP setups, and interesting enough to demonstrate UV mapping in external apps like Modo and UV Mapper. The simpler and more cartoon-like the better, really.
I'm prepared to pay, but haven't got a limitless budget. If any kind modeller has anything suitable, maybe just hanging around somewhere, and looking for a home or exposure, please let me know!
Regards, Serene.
