To save constantly (or at least frequently) having to find the Genesis character file you can right-click on it in the Content Library and from the menu pick Create custom action. This will add a Scripts menu next to help, if it isn't already there, and add a link to Genesis to it - that way it's always accessible. (You can use Edit>Customise to add it to another menu if you like.)
Quote - Load the old character, then with it selected load Genesis again, then hit Undo. It will restore the old character with the new morphs.
Say again? So if I load up an older Genesis that I've saved out as a .daz file and then load a new Genesis into the scene and do a Ctrl Z the older character will be updated with the newer morph information? Or do I have that all wrong?

You have to have the old Genesis selected. Unlike the older formats that just say "an item in the scene has to be selected", .dsf files will load a new figure if there's nothing selected, or apply to the old figure if it is selected. So select your old figure, and applying Genesis to it will turn it into a default Genesis, then Ctrl-Z (Undo) will restore its previous pose and morphs and textures, but it will have the new dials as well.
Pretty cool? Hell, that's brilliant!
Thank you for a quicker, and more efficient way to do this mishamcm. Now I no longer have to use the Transfer Utility way, or moving morphs by hand into the Genesis folder.
Why wasn't this nifty little trick let out of the bag earlier (general Universe question)?
How did you come about this trick? Did you stumble across it as I did the other two, or were you told how to do it by someone else?
Regardless. Brilliant... Just brilliant.
Richard:
Thank you for that handy info as well. I think I am going to use it. Will be a great time saver when my library is opened in another subject.
Take care all...

I am playing around with morphs in dsf format for Genesis
Is there any way to update an existing character in a scene with the new dsfs I just installed?
Cheers! Oom
