Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 8:51 pm)
I am on an airplane and cannot check, but doesn't the render dimension dialog apply here?
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
I run Poser Pro 2012 with two monitors. The only panels that remain on the monitor with the preview window are the one's I CAN'T move ;). Just be advised you'll have to the panels on each room tab individiually, and the floating dock will stay the same size and in the same place between tabs. Set up the library panel first. Then place the other panels around it.
edit: my monitors can't do the resolution you're referring to, so I can't tell you anything about that ;). You can expand the preview window across both monitors, but then you have the problem of covering up your other panels ;).
Laurie
Laurie that is good news that the preview window WILL function across monitors.
I operate with few panels open...just the light and camera widget and the parameter dials. I click open the graph a lot from the dials. Animation slider docked at the bottom.
now...i have to find out if dual monitors can be taught to function over/under as opposed to right/left.
BB in this special case I am NOT rendering firefly. Only rendering the preview. Also, please turn off all electronic devices that could cause your plane to crash! We need you.

I've used Poser on an airplane wthout issue. :tongue2:
However, technically it is a violation of DAZ' license to carry their content around on a laptop...

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."I guess I should tell what the hell i'm doing!
Not going for realism...just the movement of characters, clothing and hair. Turning on various preview OpenGL features. Also using strand hair with "show populated" selected. Very fast render time with preview engine out to image sequence. Significant post-processing.
Going for iPad3 resolution.

Sometimes I just tear off the document pane (that very tiny square at the utmost upper right, which says Dock / Float / ...
This image shows Poser at the left monitor and the floating document pane at the right monitor.

I have need to get the document window (preview) to open very large. In fact, i need 2048x1536 minimum, sometimes in landscape, sometimes in portrait.
I am aware that working in, say, an 800x600 document (same ratio) does not stop you from rendering at 2048x1536, that works fine. However, I have a certain special need: to render animation in preview at full 2048x1536 and/or 1536x2048.
On my 1920x1080 monitors I cannot get the preview window open to more than 992 high, and on 1920x1200 Dell a little more although i have not tried that yet.
So, here are my questions if any dual monitor gurus see this post:
is there a way to fool Poser into opening a huge document/preview window on a normal monitor?
implementing dual monitors, can you get them in "over/under" relationship?
will the document window open up across the dual monitors?
I have two dells that go up to 1920x1200, so in over/under mode that would be 1920x2400 and that would cover me for 1536x2048.
There seem to be various monitors on the market that will go to 1536x2048, but a) i already have multiple large monitors; b) it would have to pivot; c) i bet you still can't get the Poser document window open sufficiently, and d) i do not mind working in the preview window across monitors.
I am running PoserPro2012 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Any wisdom much appreciated,
