THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: slight probs...

windows 7.. bryce 7 pro..

i gave in my laptop for a health check up as the warranty is getting over in a month or so. i now have to reinstall everything.as they happily wiped it out..gave me a clean slate..with my permission..of course.

i wanted to reinstall bryce anyway..completely..as the past few times..when i've had to install bryce..i kept getting a weird message for everything i installed... a pop up window came up saying that the program it seems wasn't installed properly...and it gave me two options.. re-install it again..or ignore msg.

i'd click on re- install it again..and it would be ok after that. it did that for content, bryce, daz..everything.

before i start intalling bryce now... why does that happen and how do i avoid that?

i just installed a fractal program freebie..and got the same issue. is it with anything to dow ith graphics as other programs..not that me putting much on..doesn't have that same probs.

help!!

I have had that, too, Rosie.
I just click to continue and everything works perfectly.
I don't know why this happens.

Is this of any help?

hmm..i think that happens to you before you click.. like an authorize me.. that has something to do with your account settings on your computer as well as norton.

this happens after the installation..

Yes, here, too.
First install.
Then I get that message.

And I don't have Norton......thank goodess. ;-)

I get that all the time, especially if I've used DAZ installers. Unless I think something about the install was odd, I just x it off. It doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Rosie, dis-connect from the internet and try turning norton off before doing the install. May work, may not but don't forget to turn it back on afterward.

Cheers

I get those messages ever since I got Windows 7 last year and I just ignore them. It never seem to bee a problem

I think that popup is just Win 7 being too sensitive about the anticipated results from the user's input if that input(installation) deviates in any way from Window's built-in programming parameters!

What I do when I get that message popup is go ahead and run the program, and if it runs as I expect, I just hit the "installed correctly" button and am not bothered about that installation again.

If it didn't install and runs as I expect, then I hit the "re-install using recommended" button and see if that fixes it. If It didn't install correctly  with Windows doing the installation, I manually install it again and usually it works on the reinstallation - I have never had to manually reinstall more than 1 time on my 32 bit Win 7 machine.

Hope that gives you some sense about how to deal with that bugaboo.

I think DAZ is forcing everyone to go with DS4.
