Thank you, dear Carin,

A great challenge, and the images you shows us here does so much justice for a celebration of "yellow".

We too will do our best :).

A lovely weekend to all,
Jacomina.

Hi, and here is my first.
Also a bit with a wink to the last month-challenge ;-)

p.s. Why this creature got its feet yellow?

Thank you Christo and Carin.

It was such fun by observing this smart insect, and I had to think of a rope-dancer.
I wanted to talk to him and say, 'watch out please'. :)

Thank you Carin, for an excellent idea for a challenge :-)

auntietk ( ) posted Sat, 02 June 2012 at 8:08 PM

What a great idea for a summer challenge!

Your image is the perfect start, Jacomina.  A bridge between last month's challenge and this one, and SO yellow!  :D

I was out in Elk Island yesterday and one of these Canadian Tiger Swallowtails (Papilio canadensis) landed in front of me while I was photographing Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris). I have tried for years and never been able to even get within 50 feet of these as they are so skittish here. My lucky day!

auntietk ( ) posted Sun, 03 June 2012 at 12:02 AM

Congratulations on taking excellent advantage of a lucky break, Wayne!  I probably would have been stunned into inaction.  :P

So well your response not to be nervous, but make this wonderful photo.

Thank you so much for sharing, it's fabulous!

Tara, thank you, also for the music.
I can imagine I would maybe have the same reaction as you dicribe, about if suddenly along came 'the first prize'. :)

Get Well Wishes go to Christo.
If I understand your words right.

Hi Friends

Here is my first "yellow" image! On Thursday afternoon we went for sundowner cocktails at Camps Bay beach in Cape Town and this was our view. Not bad for a work day!

Fortunately, we have yellow dishes!  :)  Also red, blue and green, so if there's another color challenge I'll be all set.  LOL!

HA Jacomine, I just cant, as this is not a 2D forum but a photo forum LOL !

Awesome yellow dishes, Tara.

dochtersions ( ) posted Sun, 03 June 2012 at 3:12 PM

What an eye-catching yellow, Tara!

I think if you eat an egg from this plates, you do not see the yolk.

auntietk ( ) posted Sun, 03 June 2012 at 5:34 PM

Thanks, everybody!  :)

@ Jacomina ... We choose which color plates we use for a meal based on what we're having!  LOL!  Life with two artists and four colors of dishes.  Ppfffttttt ... it's a daily adventure!  :)  "Honey, we're having broccoli and lentils with tofu.  What color plate would you like?"  Eggs actually look pale against the yellow plates, but have enough contrast that it's a nice look.  Beets do not go on the moss green plates, but they look great on yellow.  Salad on blue is perfect.  Chicken, corn, salad, broccoli ... all good on red.

Our excitement here might not be off the charts, but we have a REALLY good time!  :D

helanker ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 4:39 AM

HEHEHE! Never thought of such, Tara LOL!  And I call myself an artist. FSSSS!

dochtersions ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 8:54 AM · edited Mon, 04 June 2012 at 8:54 AM

Ha Tara & Helle !

I love how you describe your adventures in your colorful artists-life . I hope yesterday's feast-meal tasted excellent, for me it looks delicious.
Such a good combination of lentils and tofu.

Now I also understand why you 'guys' go camping often, then you have not that 'problem', which color to chose, I bet it's always green, where ever you two go!

btw, we all are artists, also by making food (cooking creatieve, the daily challenge, right?
and by camping eating creative too)

helanker ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:18 PM

HAHAHAHAHA, Jacomina. Love your humor :D

Now i can also take part in the yellow challenge with some fresh captures captured around the offices where my wife is working while i waited for her. First a series of yellow flowers of a type of shrub which grows over the wall which forms part of the area of the offices where my wife is working.

Meisiekind ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:22 PM

Awww - this is lovely Christo! Hope you are felling much better - just as bright as these beauties!

dochtersions ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:27 PM

This is a wonderful joyfully yellow flower, Christo, and a beautiful capture!!!
I would love to see this in real, there where you shoot it!

I guess it's The Campsis Radicans flava,  (Yellow Trumpet-vine) De Trompetbloem.

We have this in Orange in our garden, but not blooming yet; and one of them is froosen this winter.

dochtersions ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:29 PM

Oh, is this ladybug cute, again a very surprising and happy shot, Christo.

Also for you and family a blessed week!

Meisiekind ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:30 PM

Glad you are feeling better Christo. Rest well!

Thank you Mies. I think winter is taking their toll though. Most of these yellow flowers look withered and I believe they are dying because of the cold temperatures that we are having especially during the night and early mornings.

kgb224 ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:35 PM · edited Mon, 04 June 2012 at 12:38 PM

Thank you Jascomina and Carin.

Found many of these yellow ladybugs with many different black patterns on them on the yellow leaves. Well next week will bring a new search for me for more yellow to photograph to upload next week.

God Bless.

Canola Fields

auntietk ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 1:54 PM

Gorgeous images, Christo!  Just beautiful.

Helle, I love your yellow tools!  :)  I can see you rummaging around your property, camera in hand, searching for bits of yellow.  Excellent choices!

I'm glad to see a canola field here, Boris, and your image is spot on!  Gorgeous work!

@ Jacomina ... Yes, when we're out camping our dishes are plain white.  But as we remind each other all the time, we're CAMPING!  LOL!  The motorhome is beautiful, but the sofa is smaller than the one at home, the dishes are only white, the oven and refrigerator are small.  We're really roughing it when we go out!  ROTFLMAO!  :D

YES YES, this shot is just gorgeous, Boris and I love it.  I actually do have such shots too, only I totally forgot about them :)  And they are not new wither lol.

Snakes aren’t my friends!

This one was rather friendly and had a very special color, I think he or she is an albino, but is rather yellow  ………… fit for purpose in the June challenge?

A sunny challenge we can use in my part of Holland, we just have had 2 days with more than a lot of rain!!

Take care

Henk

auntietk ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 2:10 PM

I love snakes, but am willing only to handle the nice ones.  :P  This yellow snake is beautiful, Henk!  SUCH a pretty color.

Hedepo ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 3:10 PM

It was not a little snake in my honest opinion, about 1.5 meter tall, bbbbrrrr I still have "chicken skin" on my arms!! I'am not sure, but I believe it is a python, certainly not a poisonous snake!!
