Poser Technical F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 12:50 am)
Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
a zip file should extract to the folder above runtime for a correct install. This is normally the Poser program folder i.e Poser 7.
There is a utility called I believe Stuffit ? for zip files on macs.
the readme file online says that it installs to RPublishingFilm noir detective office in each of the runtime/geometries, textures, libraries/props etc.
if it appeared to install then check those folders with the OS folder browser and try to find them.

I'm a Windows kinda guy myself, but I've heard Zip files can be troublesome on Macs. You may find PhilC's unzip utility useful (linked).Just because the right texture is where it should be doesn't mean that's the one Poser actually loads, so check the relevant node in the Material room.
You'll probably find that there's another texture with the same name thats getting found first.
If that is the problem, the simplest cure is to give the texture a more unique name, and edit any files that refer to it to reflect the change of name.

Hi guys. I am relatively new to using 3-D but have used Poser for years just as a quick printable ref for hand done Illustrations. So I am starting a new Book and wanted a room in 3-d that I knew I would be revisiting throughout the Comic, and would be able to alter lightsources, and turn at any angle. I did a search and found FNDO here on renderosity. Read the reviews, which were great, BUT. I am running Snow Leopard on my Mac, and cant get ANYTHING TO LOAD. I cant find ANY system requirements listed on that page, and I guess I shoulda looked into it before I dropped the $10 :(
Im too new with Poser to know where to put the files once they are unzipped, and then proceed to Poser and get them loaded. But I guess thats a moot point if its PC and not Mac, huh?
Any help here would be appreciated.
