I approached this question before but never managed to explain myself properly hence i got nowhere.

Is it not possible to have Art Chart's for the photography section ?

I understand that this is not a photography forum but photography is a part of it.

Looking at the chart's at this time there is one photograph in all section's. and to be honest there are not usually that many at any time.

Photography cannot contend with render's since they are the basis of the site and the amount of render's posted far out weight's the amount of photograph's.

Personally i make comment's on both photograph's and render's but photography is my first choice and i believe that chart's for the photography would encourage the photographer's.

At the end of the day it may only be a numbered position held for a short time by an individual but it would be something to aim for where you would have a chance albiet slight to enter the chart's.

Just a thought............................

I have some different ideas regarding the photography area and just got back in the office a few days ago as I was back home dealing with the death of my Grandmother.

I need to get with the rest of my team and staff to discuss them and then hopefully something can be implemented within the next few months.

Photography will never be seen much on a site like this..This is primarly a 3D graphics site..Which, is driven by the market place for 3D items..

I spent YEARS trying to raise the visibility of Photography on this site..It's just never going to happen.. The majority of members are here for 3D content..

In relation to my initial idea, i like bclaytonphoto do not believe that the idea will develop, but i had to ask...

but as he point's out ( The majority of members are here for 3D content.. ) which is my point exactly. Photographer's have no chance in the art chart's! for example because most people are graphic's orientated.

So this leave's the photographer's posting an image or two just to keep up appearances.

As Kristis has said ( sorry for your loss ) she has some different ideas which she hope's to discuss soon with the staff and team and hopefully implement something?

I would ask why the idea's for improvement/s are not asked of the photographer's ?

At the end of the day they are the people who use the board and who know what they would like to see in respect of change's.

If Renderosity is not willing to make changes in respect of building bridges for the photographer's then in reality what is the purpose of having a photographic section.

The ideas I have are strictly for the Photography area and some of our team and staff are in the photography area as well so I will have thoughts and opinions from photographers.

It appear's that only you have idea's and that staff etc will give opinion's.

Apparently site user's who are photographer's but not member's of staff/team will have no input whereby submitting idea's is in actual fact a waste of time..

The idea/s that are often put forward like my own is strictly for photography and believe it or not some of us are in the photography area albiet beginning. and at the end of the day it is us - the user's who know what we would like to see happen and be made available.

If we the user's know what we would like to see on board are not given the chance to have our idea's considered as such this would mean that by what you have written we either like your idea's or lump them.

There were different ideas I have taken notes on (some were mine and others were from members) and some may be able to implemented and some may not be able to be implemented and that's where talking to other staff comes into play.

My only reasoning for saying what I said the second time was to reassure you the ideas  were for the photography area only and that there were pople weighing in some more who are involved in photography...that is all that was meant by that, nothing less and nothing more.

It is clear from what is written throughout that user's idea's will not be considered and i am contented in now understanding that position and will not submit any future idea's.

I look forward to seeing future implementation's that you may bring on board in the future and i thank you for your excellent conversation which is admirable to say the least.
