I've noticed the same thing- so much so that I tried to reinstall Bryce 4 for comparison. But whether due to Bryce 5 or Corel's Bryce 4 update it will no longer accept my original B4 serial number. It never ends, does it? Sometimes I think I should go back to charcoal, ink and pencil... But I suspect it is a matter of settings. If I import some of my older B4 work most of it renders very similarly (but not identically) in B5.

Has anyone noticed a change in rendering characteristics comparing 5 to 4. I'm working with the demo now and I getting really harsh colors even when lightening and varying the color of ambient light, both material-wise and the sky, as well as shadow. I've noticed this in Bryce5 imagery by others and am wondering if there might be some not so subtle changes in the engine. It is particulary striking in the Treelab. Also the foilage is not particulary defined. manowar
