Subject: Having difficulty making eyebrow trans to work!!

velvetdream2 ( ) posted Wed, 05 September 2001 at 12:26 PM · edited Wed, 15 January 2025 at 3:09 PM

I downloaded the upperbrow trans freebie from this site for Vicky and I can't get it to work at all!! I followed the instructions in the zip file but still no luck. I was hoping to get some suggestions from you guys that actually got it to work. Thanks a bunch!

i applied the texture to both texture and trans boxes, make sure the trans min and max are 100% and make sure the texture is on the eyebrows, the uppereyebrows and the lashes. For some reason i have two listings for eyebrows in my Vicky model so just make sure all eyebrow and lashes are same texture. Also i found that if you select the head and look at the default skin colour for it and add it to custom colours and then change the eybrows etc to same default colour you set as a custom. Now im confused lol, loads up poser to check. rodpanther

Vicky trans setting Eyebrow = skin under the eyebrow, do not trans Upper Eyebrow = the eyebrow hairs, trans this 2nd eyebrow = redundant material, does nothing

Ok so here's what you suggested. I'm just rewording it to make sure I got it all right. 1. Apply the brow tex to both the texture and transparency maps. 2. Set the eyebrow color to match skin color 3. Set transparency min and max to 100% Let me know. Thanks for all your help!!

no, here's the break down 1. apply texture map to the eybrows (match to face for everything) 2. apply the transparency map to the upper eyebrows & eyelashes (you can apply the tex map if you want, I usally just set the object color to black or dark brown) trans min & max for upper eyebrow = 100%, trans falloff = 0%

I'm on a different computer now. Sry but what do you mean by "match to face for everything?"

all the setting for the eyebrow should be the same as the face.

Use transparency at 100% only on the Upper Eyebrows, not on the Eyebrows (the base under the upper eyebrows). If you put transparency on the base eyebrows, you'll get two big black holes where the eyebrows are and she'll look like Groucho Marx. Transmap ONLY the upper eyebrows and you're set. Hope that helps clarify. I had the same problem at first, so you're not alone. Melanie

Thanks, everyone for your assistance. I'm a blonde, so sometimes things don't sink in at first! lol I just bought Poser 2 weeks ago and still learning. Be patient with me. ;)

Hey, a fellow blonde! Now, I don't feel so alone. :) Melanie

Oops, had a blonde moment there just a second ago. I'm working on a rather simplistic tutorial on the eyebrow problem. When it's finished, I'll post it on my website and let everyone know when it's up. Melanie
