Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
Quote - Chris aka Khai
Born in London, now living in Chatham (but still working in london and gods I hate the fracking olympics....)
Paul Bennett aka Hornet3d. Born in Wimbledon thus being an original Womble and now living in Swindon that has only one claim to fame - it has the magic roundabout. As to the olympics I am firmly with Chris.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Although I'd be interested in meeting up with any of you guys, that isn't the purpose of the thread. Purely curiosity; to see how many of us there are here. :)

You can call me Al... thats what most folks do :) Created down south, still live there 1/2 way twixt Brighton and Pompey. Though do travel up north regularly, usually Merseyside, but next time Blackpool. And yes I hate that event as well. Indeed did you know that theres restrictions on radio controlled planes or the length of camera lens. Plus even using the words like "2012, London, medals, sponsors, games" in particular ways can be illegal and could get you fined up to 20 grand!
Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
Lully aka Dawn, born and live and work in London and I love Marmite :)
Olympics is an expensive pain in the backside, can't wait for it to be all over and done with.

My ancestor was Welsh and apparently sent to the colonies for stealing a pig. Does that count?
Yeah, okay. I just wanted to take part. Dang, I wish I was British. Sigh.

Why?
Is it for the great weather, or the wide open spaces? We've had so much rain this year, nobody has a tan; they all have rust. In all fairness, the urban sprawl hasn't taken over everywhere; we still have some lovely scenic places. You can't, however, walk from Dover to Robin Hood's home (Loxley, Sheffield) in less than a day, no matter what it says in "Prince of Thieves".
I have to be honest, I like the place for the most part. If I had a choice of anywhere in the world, though, it'd be Greece. Even though they're in the middle of an economic meltdown, I'd love to live there.

Why? Dunno. Maybe I'm moderately anglophilic. Probably it's a mix of the "grass is greener" and my tendency to pay more attention to culture and pop culture than real-worldy stuff. Possibly I just sense that I'd be happier as a European in general, yet I'd still prefer to be where I know the language? Huh. Have to think about it.

So you must be somewhere near Alnwick?
All my family are Geordies (Mum - Gosforth, Newcastle; Dad - Sheriff Hill, Gateshead). Luckily we escaped from Tyneside when I was 3, moved around a lot and ended up here in Edinburgh.

Well, with the exception of certain HBO series, British TV is better. It must be. They have comedies that are actually funny, and dramas that feature actresses who really are outside of the 19-28 year age range and are sometimes almost as unattractive as the actors, Richard Armitage notwithstanding. Feels like home: TV with human beings.
Then again, maybe it's just the British few programmes that I can scrape up here that are like that.

I'm Jan. Born 10 miles south of Newcastle. Lived there for the first twenty something years of my life before moving south. Living around London now but even though I've lived in the south longer my heart still in the north.
