Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 2:22 am)
If you're using PoserPro 2012, under the properties tab for the environment sphere, untick "Light Emitter" option.

Correct; Bb's shere is self lit.
So? What does that tell you?
it adds light to your scene
Solution is to reduce the intensiy of your other lights present in the scene.
When I use BB's sphere, I mostly use only one infinite light set at something between 50 and 60% intensity.
Experiment and start from this info.

If adding the sphere with light emitter off changes the lighting, then you must be using IBL + IDL. Is that true?
And none of us with long experience with Poser have any idea what "default Poser lights" means. First of all, the defaults keep changing. Second they are so bad we delete them immediately.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

The render on the left is done with default poser lights and i added a chrome material on the choker...and i like how her skin looks...the only disatvantage is that the chrome material that i have applied to the choker cant be seen at all.
Now the render on the right is has the same default poser lights...but i added BB env sphere in order to get reflective effects...and it works...the chrome on the choker can really be seen now...but now the disatvantage is that i dont like how her skin texture color has changed...and the reason it has changed is because i added the env sphere.
The real question: is it possible to preserve the same skin texture color from the the render on the left and still have the chrome stand out like the render on the right...with out using the env sphere?...because the env sphere obviously produces great reflections...but at the same time it has its own light meaning that it somehow washes over any other lights that you have in the scene...in other words is there a way of achieving the same reflective results that the sphere produces...but with out the sphere?...
