This is called a "Butterfly Plant" and was taken at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area near Blue Springs, Mo. just east of Kansas City.
I couldn't resist a bit of playing with Photoshop and VP.. Enjoy! :-D

Your images are beautiful, Christo! I especially like the bird. (The contrast color for yellow is purple, though, and the contrast for red is green.)
I see it is not a candle, Helle! But ... what is it??? I've never seen such a thing. The seeds look like it's a cucumber or a squash, but the outside ... ??? And the stem is so thin ... I thought it was a wick. :P

HEHE! You guessed it. It was a cucumber. A special sort, which has little needles all over, you have to rub off with somerhing and then take off the skin before eating it, but it tastes like a normal cucumber. It is Per who bought it for the fun, so it is in our green house :)
And I had never seen such thing either :)
Guys - you are all doing great!
Apologies for not popping in very regularly! I am dealing with some issues! Please keep on having fun here.

Oh this is so mysterious, Helle. A splendid color, this special blue and yellow.
I have no idea what these are for seeds or fruits.
Are they edible, dear friend?
The textures on which the photo was taken is also very nice.
Hi Rod, what a fantastic color orange, so pretty deep.
It's a very sunny splashing one!
And "yes", I enjoyed it. I hope there will come beautiful butterflies on it, and you can captered one of this fast flying beauties too!
Wishing all a lovely weekend.
Here it's still HOT!
I did shopping very early in the morning, you burned alive here :D
I also have a picture of this girl laughs exuberantly to me, however here to see the bright colors.
Bye, bye :)
