Wow ! 8) This model is really good ! What modelling technique did you used ? Subdivision surfacing ? The only thing wrong i see is that the edges at the bottom of the model are not so smooth . Other than that, absolutely fabulous ! :) I'd love to see a screen capture of this one in the modeller . litst

thanks a lot for the nice comments. this is a screen shot of it. hope u like it. and i hate glossy too Fillin, but my boss said: a little more specular...more,...more,...a litle more.....

Very nice ! All that detail with only 800 polys . By the way, when you say polys, is it triangles, patches or ?... Now, all i want is a wireframe view, and it would make my day :) litst

heyas litst, this model has some triangles ang lots of quads. this wire is not subpatched, but the polycount doesnt change with it. now ur day is complete :) see ya.

That one of the things I really like about Subdivision, your control mesh stays very simple, yet you can achieve such complex and smooth, organic modeling with it. One issue is to know how to smooth out edges. A few closely placed vertices will save you sanity. At the bottom of the idol for instance, in the wire frame, you notice the squared areas. Very dense in the center, and although you cant see it from head on, recessed inward. This gives you those smooth beveled rings at the bottom of the finished model. Very nice model BTW!. :) - James
