I recently purchased some models (not sure what the tachnical term is) on Poser 9 website. However, I tried to use them but they didnt work. I was told that I need to download an M4. What website can I go to so i can download this?

The people who are selling figures usually are using a base model, and modifying it using various tools. So you will need the original model, often Michael 4 or Victoria 4, and usually the version with the extra morphs, which is an added expense. You load the M4, then load the seller's figure which takes the M4, as an example, and turns it into the figure you bought. This confused me at first too. Usually the seller will have a note somewhere, saying you will need this or that figure. Good luck.

Were those models of clothing or armour / weapons for Michael 4 ? If so, you'll need the base figure to use them.  Geometry meshes rigged for use in Poser for a particular human figure, can typically be conformed to the figure, or smart-propped to the figure's body parts.

"M4" Stands for Michael 4, which the 4th generation of a human model made by DAZ (www.daz3d.com).

You'll also notice "V4", which is the female version, Victoria 4.
