Hello everyone.

I have been playing around in hexagon and turned this up and thinking of turning it into an animation model within carrara. All I have to do is learn how to rig and animate... should be fun. Any comments are welcome.

what a clean job, great render, great design, looks very full of character!

Wow. That is clean and sleakly rendered.

Nice start, man.

You might want to consider lightening the black areas to a dark gray or maybe boost some reflectivity. There is no detail visible so they present no information when everything else on the bot is either visually complex because of reflections or wonderfully shaped.

This, of course, is the crazed ravings of a lunatic madman...

Many thanks for your comments everyone, they are greatly appreciated.

After your notes mark I find that you are correct in that the black areas just need that extra tweak to give them some added detail to match in with the rest of the body so hopefully my next render will be an improvement.

BTW - Does anyone know of any good tutorials regarding rigging and animation within carrara because this is one area where I am still a true novice 😊

All comment welcome.

Great bot model. Do you plan on creating animations with it? If so, please share the results with us. I'd love to see this model in action.

Thanks for the comments. Yes I am planning on developing an animation with it and maybe one day even releasing it as a fully rigged model. Just gotta learn more about the animation side first and get some music constructed (another one of my passions )... hopefully the end will not be too far away 😄

Very nice progress.

Thanks Mark. That means a lot to me coming from you

That is one cute looking Robot.  Can you send Carrara rigged figures to DAZStudio and retain the rigging?  I have only rigged in DAZStudio so I do not know.  Will Carrara export a cr2 from a rigged model for use in Poser?

Thanks for the comment UVDan. It is greatly appreciated.

Sadly to use any model created within carrara within DazStudio or Poser you have to export the model as an obj and then rig it directly within DazStudio or Poser.

But personally I only use Poser and Studio as content sources for carrara as I can create full animations and rigging within carrara (which I have yet to do  ) so I can't really understand why one would want to rig it within the other programs as this would surely create a greater stress on the system... or am I missing something 😄

If you wanted to sell the model as a DAZ or Poser figure you wound probably want it rigged in one of those two.

There is that but I have to confess that I am a true carrara nut and so prefer to deal directly within carrara and use the others as essentially expansion plugins (if that makes sense )... I'm just wierd LOL.
