It is amazing how fast your sitemail box fills up when you are gone for a few days!

I'm posting here to let the forum membership know that I am stepping down as moderator. Last Friday I suffered a heart attack. It was not a big one, and the doctors tell me I am going to be fine, but they do suggest that I try and get as much stress out of my life as possible.

In one way, I have genuinely enjoyed my role as moderator here. In others, I just can't ballance the stress of knowing where to draw the lines with allowing people to speak their minds.

So, I think this is for the best.

Kendra is going to take charge of the forum for the time being, and I am discussing with management some other things I might be able to do to remain involved here at Rendo. It looks promising. I will finish the Forum Challenge contest, as I was the one who started it. The next one will be under the control of the new moderator, whoever s/he becomes.

I wish you all the best, and ask that you give Kendra your full support.

And yes. I'll still be here posting like everyone else, once I get rested up!

Best of luck managing that stress load.  In my book, you are one of the best.  Too bad other circumstances have derailed you temporarily.  Take care of that ticker; you only have one.

Your health and well-being are the priority here.  Many wishes for a speedy recovery and whenever you begin feeling stressed out just say to yourself "Serenity now!" (Seinfeld fans will know what I mean).

But seriously, rest up, listen to some soothing music and don't let things get to you.

Wow a heart attack? Make suer you take care of yourself and put your health first.  You have officially been given the "I don't sweat the small stuff Pass" and a "No drama Pass"  Make sure you use them whenever you feel the things getting stressful.   No need for your body to work on healing and dealing with other "non-important stress" like what comes out of some people's mouth.

I guess you are about to become a really laid back person.

moriador ( ) posted Tue, 04 September 2012 at 5:23 PM

All I can say is "WOW!"

I sincerely appreciate all the kind words.

I'm resting as much as I can stand to, if you get my meaning.  There is only so many hours in a day that you can stay in a bed!

While I don't see a return to this position in my future, I'll most assuredly be around.

Thanks for being part of a truly great community.

And please... go easy on the next Moderator!

Again, my sincere thanks for the good thoughts.
