Quote - "I have to agree that Tyler has a nice body but a rather unseemly face--though as a heterosexual male I don't think I can give terribly high marks to Brad Pitt either."

Well I base my high marks for Mr pit on how
I See  a broad spectrum of WOMEN react to the man and certain basic markers like perfect symmetry between the left and right face ( even tyler GND at least has this)

And also ( perhaps controversially) how  I see
women who normally stick strictly to their cultural/Racial programming, react to a Male person

Black women for example give mr Pitt very high marks as do they give Sean Connery and even ben Affleck

"I think you could do it (Brad Pitt). Scrunch the eyes together, change their slant, pull the nose tip down a bit, and shrink the mouth or something."

Of course with enough effort you could make the Default cube in blender look like brad pitt.
but  IMHO you might be better off starting with poser6 james as base if that was your goal.

Cheers

The Alex head morph is a big improvement, especially given that Ryan2 looks like a space alien. Making that look human is a huge accomplishment all by itself.

But I'd welcome any additional head morphs that anyone might care to create and release.

That, or a tutorial for the face room. Having tried it, I was not impressed. There just don't seem to be very many options. Only 3 for the lips, for instance. Also, the face that loads in the face room doesn't actually look very much like the face on the figure. Perhaps I'm missing something...

--

I don't particularly care for Brad Pitt either, though I can't explain why. He must remind me subconsciously of someone I hated or something.

You could always use the face morphs that are in Ryan2. They are practically a face room all by themselves and provide even more options to dial up different faces. They should work with Tyler.

Thanks. I just noticed those!

Of course Ryan2 still suffers from the same thing as Alyson2 -- no heavy caucasian upper eyelids. Even using the blink morph looks weird to me, like the eyes are being squeezed shut.

But with a body as fabulous as Tyler has, I won't need or want to render any close ups of the face anyway.

ETA: The eyebrows are pure Brad Pitt. Despite not liking the actor particularly, I'm quite taken with the texture. It's really very good.

I guess a lot of people havent heard the phrase 'dont look a gift horse in the mouth'.

Tyler is a free fix for Ryan - who didnt seem to be a very popular figure in his base state - not a figure developed from scratch.  There are also a lot of hurdles to overcome when you are reworking a figure made by someone else that already has a 'baked' mesh and grouping.

Had I developed him entirely on my own, hed be part of 'GND Anastasia and Alexander', and wearing the more stylized Alex head. As it stands I took the initiative to include the Alex head as a 'bonus' for anyone that was unhappy with his default head.

If people dont like the Alex head either, well - the face room and the Morphing Tool are right there in Poser at your disposal.

You won't hear me complaining. I think you did an excellent job with the material you had. And an excellent job all around. Thank you. And yes, you can change the face. And the body. In many ways. This has always been possible. Like any forum, complainers dominate. Doesn't do any good to argue with them.

Many thanks to Blackhearted, Teyon and everyone involved in bringing this pair to fruition 👍

I'll look forward to seeing some more clothing, hair and other add-ons appear for them soon.

I see there's a number of items for Tyler appearing already in the Rendo marketplace...

...bring on the Miki 4 morphs, hair, clothing and poses too please!

😉

EDIT: Whoops, thought I'd better tick the nudity box due to some man boobs...

...er just experimenting with some of the morphs there, by the way. I'm looking forward to trying to get to grips playing around with Miki more, in particular, in ZBrush too...

Indeed. It would be much better for those who of us who are having minor issues and need some tips to deal with them to just shut up with the negativity already and just render M4. ;)

Use MatWriter Panel 2012, select the Waist and you can then Set the Diffuse colour etc. within MWP2012??????

I really thought the forum was the place to encourage comment on all manner of topics, several forums threads have been started recently by members inviting comment/criticism of their morphs. If we can't post our thoughts here, I guess it's time to quit posting.

Miki 4 came in pitched 2 xrot degrees from figure and hip. Make sure you use absolute zero before saving off or exporting. I guess this might be an issue if you pull the figure from geometries. Not tested yet.

he looks malformed, is it just me, or are his lips weird and his nose half way up his forehead, i'm actually quite disappointed.

It's the camera. It's wrong. He doesn't look like that ffs. That camera is pulling his whole face forward. That should teach you to use the face camera when you wanna render...a face.

THIS is what he looks like with proper camera focal (about 95) and non-GI lighting. There's some minute dial spins and a little morph brush, but it's not far off the Alex head.

Her shape was a lot better in the first version. Her breasts for one, looked a lot more natural in Miki 1. Also, her feet had nice bones, maybe a little bit large, but shaped nice. Her stomach had a more natural shape as well and her backside looks more square now for lack of a better word..heh.  And there's a lot more resolution in the thighs and crotch than there used to be. Wondering at the reason ;). These are just opinions, take them or leave them and just what I see when I compare...lol.

Yeah, he's a looker alright ;). BTW, no matter what I do I can't get rid of the blue nostrils and lips...lol. I did discover tho, that the innermouth has nothing but the color texture plugged into the diffuse. So I copied the settings from the gums, and gave it a different group number. It did help a bit. I also got rid of the reflection_&#@$!Lite_Multi on all the materials. Thanks again Snarly for Scene Fixer ;).

What's with the Miki default? I find her lack of nipples disturbing. Maybe there's a purpose for a full flesh, nipplless texture (aside from morally pure posing) but I'm at a loss to identify it.

Other than that, Miki is cute. There are lots of morphs to choose from. Weightmaps obviously aren't a panacea. I see issues that I've been struggling with for nearly a year in these recent figures.
