what qualities do you look for when you're deciding which entry to vote for,
like in the Halloween contest?

I'm wonderin if i need to be putting big bewbies in my contest entries.

i look for z-depth in 3d work.  like it to pop out at me. vibrancy.

It depends I think.

I usually would never vote for an image which has all over blood, cutted body parts etc. Even when it is technically well made. But this is not my kind of taste, so I would vote for an Image with less violance, even when it would have some technical ( small ) issues.

But at last the overal count. Light, mood, Postwork, technic...the idea behind.

boobs won't win you a contest, but they will attract attention...  if someone clicks on the thumbnail.  I'd make sure that the thumbnail is as good as possible to get the most looks (potential votes) as well as create a strong first impression.  Then you have to have the best scene you can make.

BTW, I'm not voting in this one, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt...  and my art is junk, so take it with some pepper as well...  and I like big boobies but still won't vote if its the "wrong scene"...

WARK!

I vote for images that are striking, aesthetically appealing, original, and done with some skill.

Many of the images submitted to the Halloween contest look very amateurish.  Expressionless faces, unnatural poses, clothing that appears immune to gravity, poor lighting.  (And yeah, I know I've committed many of these sins myself over the years. Hey, I'm not a contest winner.)  I tend to skip right over those.

Then there are the renders that are attractive and very professionally done...but so trite in Poserdom that they don't really stand out.  Typically a sexy, barely-dressed witch posed on a DM set.  ;-)  Absolutely nothing against fantasy pinups, it's just that you see it so often here at Rosity, it kinda doesn't register any more.

Typically, I vote for images that are different. I still remember an image from years ago.  I think it won.  It was a farm scene at night.  There was a cart stopped by a field of corn, and drags marks where something had dragged whoever had been in the cart into the corn.  It was just so creepy and mysterious.  So many years of Halloween contests, and probably thousands of images, but that's the one that I always remember.
