Subject: Question regarding lights in PoserPro 2012

nabob21 ( ) posted Sat, 03 November 2012 at 1:01 PM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 9:47 PM

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with a light set I am building for Stonemason's Urban Sprawl 2. I have been creating a light set for the streetlights and have found that after I have six lights set up and then add a seventh, one of the previous six lights turns off.

Is there some kind of limit in PoserPro 2012 that limits you to only sx lights in a set? I find this rather puzzling and I can't go any farther with the light set I am building until I get this figured out.

Thanks for any replies.

The limit is only for the preview ;)

Hello Anthanasius,

Thank you for the reply. I didn't realize that the preview was limited like that. Is there some way of altering this or is it unchangeable?

Thanks again.

it's down to OpenGL only displaying 8 lights and that's not changeable

In addition, too lights will bog down your rendering, slow it down to a crawl.  Neon signs, distant light fixtures can be faked using higher ambient values and IDL especially if you are using PP2012.

Thanks to everyone for your answers. I have been able to work with what you have told me and I am now finally making progress on my light setup.

Have a great weekend.
