Subject: Reality Render thread. A new beginning.

Quote - [quote inquire] Its been a while since I shared an image here.  For some reason I really like this one.

It's outstanding. I like the mood, the clothing textures. There's quite a lot that's remarkable here.

Thank you :)

For fingernail colors I simply match the color for both color settings if on glossy or set to custom metal...

BradHP ( ) posted Sun, 02 December 2012 at 3:49 PM

Finally done with this after multiple attempts. After it rendered without the face texture I tried another version with just the top half of the man with plans of just placing it over the first, but forgot to change the file name and wrote over the original. So I eneded up starting the whole thing over again.

Here's my first Daz/Bryce hybrid.

Built and rendered the landscape in Bryce.  Exported the Bryce scene to .hdr and used it as an IBL in Reality to render the figure in the foreground with Alpha channel checked.  Then placed the png from lux over the Bryce image in photoshop.

Nice job!  How long to do the whole process?

If I were to quibble about anything, it would be that the straps on her dress seem to be too thin.  But it's only a minor thing.

I can accept that quibble.  I only spent about 10 minutes in Daz, loaded the character, threw on the dress, added the lights and let it go overnight. Already had my settings saved for the skin and hair and used a preset pose from V5 with some minor adjustments.

Don't have a total time for the Bryce work, but it was a few hours a day over 3 days.   3 pieces of terrain that I built and tweaked textures, water was pretty much just drop in and adjust the placement.  Most of my time was spent in the Sky Lab.  Render time was about 28 hours.

After all that I really wish that the "Send to Daz" function worked so I could have actually placed my character in the scene and not have to Photoshop it.  All of the textures came out screwed up in Daz and looked horrible with both 3Delight and Reality.  I didn't feel like redoing textures again.

I think the best thing I've learened in Bryce so far is that I can make some nice skies and turn them into IBL's to use in Daz.

Okay boys.. lil' problem here... Not been 'very social' lately, but still hope you want to help me.. gives lovely smile

Anyone had problems with the item "Ultimate Dynamic Tee"? Yes, I can drape it, yes I did 'freeze simulation' (so it's a plain object) but when I press 'Render' in Reality 2.50.1.107 it just stalls.. The render button stays gray and Luxrender doesn't show up.

When I remove the Tee all is fine and Reality and Lux do their job as usual.

I have looked at the files and all I can see is the LXO file stops abruptly here:

AttributeBegin

NamedMaterial "S3_back_55" Shape "plymesh" "bool smooth" ["false"] "string filename" ["12a-Resources/objects/Low V Neck Shirt_Low V Neck Shirt_S3_back_55.ply"]

AttributeEnd

 # Object Low V Neck Shirt_5104

AttributeBegin

NamedMaterial "S3_3/4_sleeve_56" Shape "plymesh" "bool smooth" ["false"]

That should not happen, now should it? Every other LXO ends with 'AttributeEnd' and some sort of ply file should be named. Right?

Now you may recognize the item in this 3Delight render.. Help?

In Reality, on the Output tab, change Geometry Format to Lux Native :)

By the way, how come you get younger each time you do a render of yourself?

I like th glossiness the way it is. In fact there are stockings that are shinier than the ones in Charley's image. BTW, Charley do you have a link to the product that caused the issue? I like to debug it.

Here is a test image i did to show the versatility of genesis, of which I have become a huge fan!! I recently picked up the Gen 3 iconic morphs for  Genesis, mainly because i have lots of Gen adons and wanted to see if they worked with genesis as advertised.

Both figures are Genesis. The female is mostly one of my custom V4 FBMs with some V5 mixed in and the male is mostly custom M4 with some M3 mixed in. The dress is an old V3 one I had that was a one pc with a short, flared skirt. It had a lengthen morph and I liked how it lowered the top part also when lenghtened that long. With a little smoothing modifier, it fit perfectly and i added some custom textures. The tux is an old package for M3 and even the shoes came out better than expected, truly brilliant technology and a huge time saver. I have a real hard time going back to Poser after using such innovation.

Okay.. I'll disregard the model.. your models always look stellar.  So, I'm looking at the set itself.  Is that a backgrounds made easy set?  Being an old-school kind of guy and an architecture student; I LOVE hardwood flooring.  Even in my renders.  I have a ton of various hardwood patterns, parquets, and grains that have worked great with just about every scene I've put them in.  If you'd like, I can zip 'em up and send them to you.  I even have normal maps that I've made for the ones I've used(i like the effect nrm maps have on the backgrounds made easy set rather than displacement and bump maps).  I, also, have a ton of brick and natural stone textures that make good wall textures as well as a few wallpaper textures.  Be happy to share what I have.. they're all freebies.  As always, your lighting and composition are impeccable.  Once again.. welcome back.

Very nice render.  Was telling the wife several months ago that I'd like to do a series of renders based on latin ballroom dancing.  I love to watch it done by pros.. but suck at the practical application myself.  I don't have 2 left feet.. when it comes to dancing.. I have no feet at all.

The BG is from 'Floors 'n Walls' a freebie from sharecg I downloaded recently.

I share your love on hardwood flooring, but also stone floors are nice to use in a render. I would love to have additional textures for floors and walls (can't get enough of those I think) but only if you are absolutely sure it does not violate any copyright rights if you send them to me :)
