I have poser pro 2012 and Marvelous designer.

Making the clothes in MD has been a challenge. However when I send it into PP to the clothe room. It does not work right see my pics< the first pic is fine worked fine read on..

the above picture the clothe seems to stick to each other, in the cloth room I have pressed the tick box, avoid self colision. Also the right side of body does not have a problem, it always seems to the ber the RHS, also I have tried alsorts of different dynamic clothes (not what I have made) and the same problem appears.

If anyone can giive me a solution I will be so pleased

could you post the obj file for one of your things ?  just rename it with a .txt extension and use the attach file box below.

There are a number of things that can affect how the cloth moves in a cloth simulation. You need to look closely at the geometry.

Geometry,
Cloth room settings,
Certainly NO groups, the whole thing has to be one single group.

We need lots more information to help you.

Here is the obj file you wanted.

The dress fits sydney G2, unfortunatly you will have to re-pose Sydneys body to fit in the dress, just move the hands with ik on will fit easily.

Do you need the -.mtl file as well?

One though I had was when the body limb, eg collar, shoulder etc touchs very close or overlaps the body it causes the clothe to stick and poke throughs etc. However I will try this on the LHS and see if it works.

Hope you all can find the solution.

Hello Boz, just started checking your dress.

I loaded Sydney at frame 1
Loaded your dress at frame 1

But?? When I pose Sydney to fit inside the dress. (there can be NO poking at frame 1), I did see that:

The dress mesh has 2 serious problems ;
A) The dress is NOT symmetrical .
B) There is a gap, or a not welded piece in the left armpit. Both lower armpits have modelling and or non welding problems. The mesh is broken in the armpits. And can as such not be used as it will open up during a cloth sim.

And the dress arms-sleeves being at 45° down makes it hard to find and pose for Sydney’s arms to get completely inside the sleeves at frame 1. ==> Better to model in the "T" pose.

However? I managed to get it to work completely, once I found the Sydney arms settings to have absolutely NO poking at frame 1.
But I can not pose the arms up, as the dress mesh gap under the armpits will open up during the simm.

The shoulders **symmetry differences are :

**

Up-Down  è Right at 46°  versus Left at -43°
Front-Back  è Right at  2° versus Left at -7°

**Lessons learned:
**The dress is not symmetrical.
The right sleeve is 2° forward of neutral, the left sleeve is 7° behind neutral.
The right sleeve is 46° down and the left sleeve is 43° down.

Always check and double check to have absolutely no poking at frame 1
The figure HAS to be inside the clothing at frame 1,

I add 2 pictures:
One to show where the mesh is broken under the left lower armpit.
One where the simm went OK, once I found all the settings on Sydneys shoulders and forearms to have NO poking at frame 1.
You can see both arm - sleeves down next to the body, and both arms – sleeves simmed OK

But the gaps in the armpits are breaking and opening.

When I run a simm to lift the arms above the head, both cloth lower armpits break open.

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.

Best regards, and happy Posering
Tony

Further. and for other cloth simm users also.
Poser does not like layered clothing.

The coth room pushes them into each other.

On the collar of this dress this can be solved with:

  • The morph brush
  • Or put a displacement map on the collar.

For the dress ==> Morph brush.
