Subject: Adobe Air update issues

Yesterday, while working in Poser, I received a notice about an update for my Adobe Air. No biggie. Clicked ok and install and kept on working. Not a problem. Closed out Poser and did not give it another thought.

Today when I opened Poser, my library would not open. It would start and then close down with an error. I tried it in both PP2010 and PP2012. I got the same error in both applications. The LSMGUIAIR exe stopped working with an unknown error. I searched the web and found nothing in reference to this particular error. Mind you, I never had a problem like this before. I even tried opening both the poser exe and the LSMGUIAIR exe as an administrator. No dice.

So, I thought maybe it was the Adobe Air update. I checked my system restore info, such as what programs would be affected if I did a system restore to an earlier point. There were only 2 and the Air update was one of them. The other was something I had installed to try and planned to uninstall anyway. I went ahead and did the system restore to an earlier date, wiping out the Adobe Air update. Guess what? Poser library is working again just fine.

Beware the newest Adobe Air update. You might run into the same issue that I did.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with this.

Try this.

Control Panel / Programs / Programs and features

Select Adobe Air

Select Change and then select  REPAIR and see if it fixes the issue.

just cheked at home... Adobe Air does not have a repair option... sigh.

Possibly uinstalling and then reinstalling Adobe Air may fix it.

If you ran the update with Poser running, it my be corrupted or an incomplete install.

Uninstall Air then reinstall it.

I clicked on the update while in Poser (P2012 Win 7 64 bit) without thinking but it updated and everything was fine but I guess it may depend on what Poser was doing at the point the update was performed.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
