Subject: What's happened?

Michael_C ( ) posted Thu, 21 February 2013 at 2:58 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 8:27 PM

I thought I was at DAZ for a moment.  Not only does the marketplace look like DAZ, but some of the front page links no longer work.  I see also that the percentage on sales has disappeared.

The wishlist now has huge graphics.  Those are OK for the marketplace, but now I need to scroll and scroll to look at the list.  Change can be good, but it should be for the better.  I will be looking for and appreciating the improvements.

Hello Michael_C

The programmers are still working on getting everything setup and worked out. :)

Thank you

Hi Lyne,

They are working on the wishlist issue as we speak.

Give it about 10 minutes then do a hard refresh.

Thanks

Oh man, what happend:(

It was so much nicer before, why they change.

Lyne ( ) posted Thu, 21 February 2013 at 4:57 PM

ya found my wish list...but hate the whole site SO much, I don't want to be here... last change over was bad enough, but now it so cheap, and NOT artistic, not pleasing to use/view.... blah!

I totally agree, the grey/white hurts my eyes and the Gallery looks cheap and not at all nice.

Whynot keep the colors as before and just make the other changes?

I think I do prefer RDNA Gallery much more now cos it does not hurt my eyes, the whole site has changed for the worse now:(

Whyyyy

this is actually a much more modern style...and probably works on mobile phones. But, I agree, it's kind of plain. For an artistic type website, you would think they could get a designer to set up something really nice. I don't mind the color combinations so much, but there is a lot of highly contrasting chunks on the screen, which might be hard on some people's eyes.

Raindroptheelf ( ) posted Thu, 21 February 2013 at 8:53 PM

It is very harsh on my eyes and I really prefered the darker style.

Not very well chosen for an Artistic Site I must say.

DAZ's old site was also green-blue (though much less saturated (103, 127,127))... At least now we know what the next Renderosity site will look like: Blinding white...  :-p

I concur with the others that it doesn't look very classy. :-(

Seriously, the contrasts and colors still need to be tuned: You have glaring white boxes on the darkish green-blue background, you have thin black text on that same darkish background (!), and even worse, tiny green-blue text on that green-blue background (!!). Is this a vision test? Do I need some kind of decoder glasses to navigate the site?

When you don't have a good eyesight it really drives you mad with that white on the blue background. Yes ... first I felt I am at DAZ where many things did not work a long time.

Yes ... a second that ... the site had been great as it was and it was a pleasure to search and look for things. Now it is awful and it is not good to view with all that white, I always preferred the look and feel from Rendo and now I had been in shock this morning. This is no fun anymore.

Never touch a running system ... DAZ made that experience and I hope you will make the site again reader friendly and not flashing the white in the eyes.

All the little things you did the last months had been great like showing how long things will stay on sale and the dayly deals. But this had been no good idea for people who like to search for hours on Rendo. It makes the eyes tired. When you must have a new look do the whole site in white or change it back as it was. The windows at the right are too big and all is overlapping. Before Rendo showed elegance in the look, precious and classy ... now it looks like all the other shops selling various goods.
I am really sad that Rendo does now the same as DAZ did and I see no benefits for the user especially the buyers.
Last POINT ... all graphics where made for the prior look and many lose now on white background.
Look at the postings here ... It looks all so much better on a dark background with text in light color and the pictures look so much better either on that background.

sometimes changes must be... new layouts, new features.. it freshes up - but sometimes it goes wrong like this time ;-( Don´t do the same mistake as DAZ. Your earlier changes of the layouts always had been good an we all accostumed very fast.. but this times, this Layout is hurting my eyes. Please change the to many white fields into a darker one, so I cannot stay to long at ReRo its too psychelelic and causes ungood feeling. We shall all feel well here, so please dear Designer on the Layout make it a bit darker and eyefriendlier. I donnot tryed if there are some technical issues.. But I had to leave faster than ever cause my eyes and Feel had been hurt a bit. We love ReRo, so please changes must be it showes that the site lives and isn´t boring and You do all to please us, but please not that exxperiments which are too odd in colours which hurt.. Inverted it wouldn´t hurt more, but all these bis too light spaces are not good to feel comfortable and You know colours causing well feeling moods

Have to say the changes are a little bewildering, it seems as to be, change for change sake alone.

Still looking for how this improves things in anyway.

I miss being able to click on the title bar headings as well. Seem to be sacrificing the look on a computer screen for phone/tablet enhancements. Which IMHO isn't the way to go for an art site.

Anyways hope this gets ironed out cause at the moment its rather bleak.

Razor42 ( ) posted Sat, 23 February 2013 at 10:24 PM

I have to say it looks quite awful on my IPAD as well. Nothing lines up, the main selection bar at the top is spread over two lines. There seems to be overflow in a lot of places. The white product boxes are all different sizes. Giving a haphazard and jaring appearance combined with the white and dark blue contrasts.

Sigh

DalekSupreme ( ) posted Mon, 25 February 2013 at 4:23 AM

Not a good look. Preferred the old look. It was perfectly functional. Now it looks cheap and looks no better on an iPad or iPhone than the old site.

shame.

rty ( ) posted Mon, 25 February 2013 at 9:25 AM

The product pages are a mess too. Did the person who designed this know what this site is all about?

When I open a product page, it's to get more information about something potentially interesting to buy (but that's me, YMMV...).

So, what do I see inside a product page? Only half a promo picture; The top of the screen is wasted, mostly empty, sparsingly cluttered with pointless/useless stuff and lots of empty space. (Note I'm on 1920x1200 pixels, so you can hardly accuse my screen resolution)

So I scroll down one screen height, past the promo pic, and I discover a huge, almost empty square with a "purchase as a gift" feature! So, is this the most important feature, the one which will make or break the deal???... Get that crap out of there and put it where it belongs, into the checkout process! A product page is about telling me why I might want to buy this item, period.
And where is that information I'm looking for? Ah, on the very bottom of the second screen, I notice a higher density of text (in that otherwise half-empty page) beginning: It's, at last, the description, the thing which will make me buy or not. Hidden three screens down, at the bottom, along with the "related products" and other clutter...

What about making a real product page, one which offers "information at a glance", most important first? Making people to scroll for vital information is bad web design. If people don't see it at first glance, chances are they won't bother go hunting for it. Don't forget you're trying to sell stuff, this isn't (well, shouldn't) look like an amateur homepage about your cat/dog.

/end preaching in the desert
/end rant.
